went for the twenty 20 game Durham against Yorkshire.
Lovely ground over looked by castle, lots of parking available outside the ground although it took a while to get out after the game.
My first twenty 20 game, really Enjoyed it, very entertaining cricket from both teams.
lots going on to keep the youngsters entertained between the overs and innings.
all round an enjoyable evening under the floodlights

Visited this beautiful cricket ground for the fourth time. Great ground with good facilities. Set in a beautiful setting wuth views of Lumley Castle. Lots laid on to encourage and entertain young cricket enthusiasts. Entertainment from Chester the Lion. Good parking facilities. A super visit despite a Durham defeat.

Brought my niece to her 1st ever concert at the riverside and have to say it was a great venue. Plenty of space for the kids to dance around and seating for those who needed/wanted it. Was a bit disappointed by the overpriced food and drinks -£6 for a pulled pork sandwich and £2.50 for a bottle of pop plus cash machines that put a £2.95 charge on was a bit much but overall everyone enjoyed it. Security were very helpful and really made us feel safe which was a big worry for my sister. Parking was no problem and the attendants were tryin hard to get everyone out as quickly as possible after the event.

A great gig - if only we could have seen the stage and heard the sound. Terrible location, terrible offer, terrible value.

This was purchased as surprise for my Wife a life long Rod Stewart fan for her Birthday.

I paid over £175 for each ticket for what was billed as a VIP concert experience with private suite / bar.

We received our tickets only 5 days before the concert - we had instructions as to when to arrive, what to wear and a menu for a 3 course meal.

On arrival - we learnt there was no meal - we had all (all silver VIP ticket holders) been sent the menu in error. The bar was a paid bar - and we just happened to be a in a room. We were so far away from the stage that you couldn't even see the artists on the stage - it was like watching from home - except the sound was absolutely terrible - with horrendous time delays in the sound due to the distance and terrible echoes from the adjacent stands. We could not see or hear Rod Stewart - we had no meal, and we had to pay for drinks. Also we never received the souvenir programme we were promised!!

Where was the VIP concert experience that warranted £175+ each?

We brought this situation to attention of the Durham County Cricket Club (DCCC) staff - who said it was nothing to do with them - it's was the promoter (Cuff and Taylor) and they couldn't do anything. Cuff and Taylor staff were not there and so we pushed the complaint further with the event host. DCCC staff did offer that this was the single most expensive event they had ever put on and where astounded by the price being charged in the room we were in for such a poor location and package.

To top it all - I tweet as @stiltwalk about this issue on Friday evening and Cuff and Taylor liked my tweet - truly rubbing salt into the wounds.

Think long and hard before buying a VIP package - check what you are getting carefully to avoid massive disappointment.
