We - a family of six adults and two small kids stayed at the place for 3 days. It was a very relaxing experience.
The place is very tastefully done, clearly shows personal interest taken by owners. The team attending at site is very courteous and makes you feel at home.
The bookshelves for adults and kids are well stocked, the views from french windows are awesome.
All in all an awesome experience. Did not face any issues.
I would recommend you to go if you are looking for a quiet place, away from crowded hill stations. Expect good food, cozy stay, quietness and excellent service
The more I say of the stay here, the less it is. It was PERFECTION REDEFINED!
The cottage does not leave you asking for anything...anything.
Nestled amongst the beautiful deodar tress, the cottage is in the village of Mashobra, about half hour from Shimla. Once you take the turn from the main road towards Mashobra, you do get a tad apprehensive as the lone, snakey and broken down road seems to go forever but oh, man oh, once you see the cottage, you realize it could not have been any other way.
With 3 bedrooms, attached bathrooms with most stylish fittings n even a jacuzzi there is not much left to ask for. The bathrooms also come with fantastic views. So you can spot the misty valley while you do your business. Luxury or what!!
The master bedroom comes with a fireplace and a small balcony, which when you open the door to, let's the mist sneak it's way in. The fireplace, once lit compells you to tuck your feet in on the sofa and get reading. The cottage has a range of books too.
The kitchen is cozy n overlooks the small well kept garden. One could be somewhere in an Enid Blyton storybook cottage. The cottage overlooks a valley below, where you can spot cabbage farms and other cottages.
The best thing of the place though is the house heia, Sundar, who embodies his name. He is amongst the nicest people you will ever come across. The owners are lucky to have such a gem manning their place. He is
an awesome cook to. Love
1. Be ready to shell out on the taxi travels since the place is far. About 500-600 per trip back n forth.
2. You will have to leave from wherever u are to get to the cottage before sundown. Most taxi guys refuse to ply on the road too late in the night.
3. The owner might (just might) give you a discount in the off season.
If you have ever dreamt of perfect family getaway like the ones you see in movies -- then this is where you actually get to live it. The place is a perfect private paradise in the hills.
We were a family of 11 including a 2.5 month old infant and a large sized golden retriever. The house is absolutely stunning. what is even more beautiful is the walk around it.
And the food is just perfect. The caretakers Sunder and his wife are a complete pleasure. Absolutely hospitable, always smiling and ready to help and the perfect hosts you could ever want. They were cooking the most delicious Indian food for us every day.
We stayed here for 3 nights and still thought it was too little. Only think i would recommend is to stay put at the house or go for walk in the surrounding areas. Going to Shimla market is a bad idea unless you are open to spending close to an hour or more each way mostly in traffic.
I am certain of going back to this place again with my family.

Breathtaking pine forest....step farming.... walking in the hills....all from the comforts of a modern and fully furnished cottage....and the icing on the cake is Sunder, the polite n competent caretaker cum cook....a home far from the madding crowd
This place is my favourite for an annual getaway. The villa is gorgeous and luxurious. It's perfect for a family holiday or for a group of friends... It's pocket-friendly and makes you feel like in nature's lap.
I strongly recommend it to everyone to go here atleast once...
