“Lovely house, made to feel very welcome by Nick & May.”
Reviewed 12 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We booked The Old Vicarage for a 40th birthday celebration, 4 couples, no children this time! The house has some really comfortable accommodation and plenty of it! Amazing views and some wonderful cider! We can not recommend them enough. Nick & May made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

“Excellent venue with a lot of history”
Reviewed 17 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed at the old vicarage as a group of 6 couples for a weekend and had a great time. The accommodation is split between the main house and a newer converted barn with the owners sharing the old main house with the guests. The converted barn has been finished to a high spec with a very good kitchen and large comfortable lounge with large tv and wifi. The main house with most the bedrooms is vey different, full of history and old fashioned furnishings which make it very interesting to explore. We used the converted barn most of the time but the large sitting room in the main house with open fire for a baby shower during the day.
We also made good use of the cider which is brewed on site - over all would definitely recommend.

The Old Vicarage is a large, superbly equipped house in an excellent location. A friendly welcome is guaranteed, and the house has everything family gatherings need for an enjoyable stay.

“Perfect - Everything we could have asked for”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Travelled with an extended group of our family (11 adults, 22 to 81 years of age)

It is not often that you find a place that actually exceeds your expectations, has all the little things just right and outdoes the description and photographs

The flexibility of the accommodation is perfect for large groups and the dining, kitchen & lounge areas are more than adequate for such a large party

We would have no hesitation in recommending the property and the hospitality of the owners who are on-site to offer their advice and assistance (They even arranged for a mini heat wave to accompany our visit)

“A fabulous place to stay!”

We've just spent a long weekend at this property and really wanted to say how lovely it was. We were a large group of 15, (8 adults and 7 children) and this property was more than big enough to accommodate us all. The property itself is lovely, huge clean rooms, great communal cooking area, large dining room for us, two lounge/living areas, one with a lovely open fire, and beautiful grounds that overlook the river in the distance. The owners Nick and May, were so helpful, they couldn't do enough and basically opened up their home to us for the weekend. The property is spread across two buildings, the main house (in which Nick and May live too), and a separate Stables building but this wasn't a problem at all and baby monitors worked across the two buildings so it was possible to put them to bed and socialise in the other house. The village of Awre is pretty, very remote and safe but easy to get to with lots of things locally to do with the children, although the property grounds were so nice, and the weather luckily was great too, we didn't venture very far for much of the weekend! Our children loved the swings in the trees, running around on the grass and exploring the grounds, and everything felt very safe too. They also don't mention on the website that they run a cider making business called Severn Cider which my husband was very happy about! I couldn't recommend this place any more!
