“Just beautiful!”
Reviewed 30 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Me and my partner have just returned from a stay at wibdon barn and were very impressed! Sue was so friendly and welcoming and the perfect host. The barn itself was immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean - sue had thoughtfully left a hamper of cookies, wine, tea etc which we greatly appreciated. The pool was the absolute highlight for us - warm enough for a swim even at night time and we visited it every day, not often you can say that for an outdoor pool in January! Sue had left inflatable rings etc. out which as big kids we greatly enjoyed. We found there wasn't much to do in Chepstow itself that interested us, we were interested in segwaying at the national diving centre but unfortunately that was only available at the weekends and we were on a midweek break - the barn kept us greatly entertained anyway, with an Xbox, lots of DVDs and board games to pass the hours away! Cardiff and Bristol are very close by if you're interested in visiting there too. Only downside was we found the wifi to be a bit temperamental - fine for checking emails, facebook etc. but we tried streaming movies from iplayer and Netflix and found the wifi was too slow to manage it.. Such a minor complaint though, not helped by me and my partners addiction to the Internet haha I'm sure it wouldn't bother most. Wibdon barn has the most beautiful views and the electric gates (very posh!) made us feel very secure and safe during our stay. Sue has clearly thought of everything her guests may need during their stay (even plastic bags were available as Welsh shops charge for them!) and we wouldn't have hesitated to ask her for anything. An all round wonderful stay which we greatly enjoyed - I would recommend the barn to anyone!

Hi, Thanks so much for your kind comments. It's really good to know that you enjoyed your break in what can be, usually, a depressing time of year. You definitely deserved a bit of rest and relaxation and we are glad to be able to provide it!

“perfect stay!”
Reviewed 19 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Visited the wibdon barn for the most wonderful 3 night stay with my parents, husband and 2 month old baby.
The place is spot on! perfect in every way. Sue has decorated and maintained the property very beautifully.
We had a great time, so much so that we barely stepped out to see the places around.
The swimming pool is also maintaied to a very high standard.
Thank you for a lovely stay Sue, hoping to be back someday :)

“Perfect for all family types and all year round!”
Reviewed 1 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

As we pulled into the drive, we soon realised the serenity of the surroundings around Wibdon Barn and its fabulous location.
We were welcomed by Sue and Peter who showed us around the spacious, clean and homely converted barn.

The living space let plenty of light through its tall windows which looked over the River Wye in the horizon and the lush green fields that surrounded us.
The kitchen/dining area was open planned and had all of the kitchen essentials making us feel at home.
Upstairs the master en-suite bedroom was a perfect size with lots of storage in the room and a shower in the bathroom.
The Downstairs had a good sized WC and a bath tub.
The swimming pool was like icing on the cake! Especially at the end of a cold, chilly and foggy November! The pool was clean and an ambient temperature even though it was 8 degrees outside of the pool house. Perfect for weather all year round!
There were inflatable rings and floats making it a great setting for all ages and holiday makers. The pool was also available to use in the day and night.
Sue mentioned that the roof top of the pool house opens up which would be perfect for the summer time.

Both Sue and Peter lived in their barn next door to ours which gave a great sense of security whilst we also had our own privacy.

We definitely recommend Wibdon Barn and will be visiting again.
Thank you both for your hospitality! :)

“Perfect "home from home" holiday - will return and recommend.”
Reviewed 16 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We had a brilliant stay here recently for a 3 night mini break as a family of 3 (with our 6 month old daughter).

Prior to arriving communication was great with Sue offering advice on places of interest and checking what we would like to use for our little one (cot,,highchair etc).

She greeted us upon arrival and instantly made us feel at home, showing us around the gorgeous barn and surrounding grounds (inc.pool). We also had a welcome basket which includee biscuits tea and a lovely bottle of wine - one of our favourites so this was very well received!

The barn was a real home from home with all the amenities you could need and was decorated in a modern fashion and was very clean. I believe my words were "I would be happy to live here!"

The toilet upstairs is not plumbed into the main plumbing so only loo roll to be flushed but as this was explained it was no problem at all. The first morning we used the upstairs shower and the floor tray filled and didnt drain - we reported this as we went out for the day and it was sorted before our return, so efficient service.

There was plenty of space and we had even been provided with some of Sue's grandchildren's bath toys, pool toys/floats etc for our daughter if needed.

Overall we were delighted with the accommodation, price and welcome we received and would definitely return if we were to holiday in this part of the country again.

Highly recommend! Thank you for a great stay!

Hi, So glad you enjoyed your stay. Many apologies again for the shower problem - we must have forgotten to switch the Sanilav system back on after cleaning it. We will be more careful next time! If you do decide to explore this area further - we would love to see you again. Best wishes, Sue and Peter

“Awesome stay for young family, especially garden and pool”
Reviewed 30 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed at Wibdon Barn with our 2 boys aged 8 & 5 and they couldn't have been happier. The outdoor space is huge, I believe 7 acres, with most of the garden landscaped and mowed (well done Sue). There are many mature trees, including a pear tree with a swing attached which our 5 year spent hours enjoying. There's a climbing frame/swing/slide, as well as the numerous other toys such as bikes, scooters, balls, bats and basket ball ring that you have free access to. It is also secure all around the perimeter so that children can roam the garden but can't wonder out. Then there's the covered pool. The weather was warm (around 20+) when we stayed at the end of September and the covered pool (which can become uncovered in the summer) also has a multitude of toys available for use in the pool. It has a greenhouse warming affect and once in the pool (29 degrees water temp) any initial coolness is forgotten with the endless fun you will have. From the garden and the property you can see the River Severn in the distance and the barn is situated about 3 miles out of Chepstow on the A48. We live in South Wales and it only took us an hour to get there on a Friday teatime! The barn itself has a great open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with lots of natural light thanks to the huge windows. The downstairs bedroom had 2 single beds, which is where our boys slept and the master with ensuite toilet & shower is upstairs. The barn also has a downstairs bathroom with a bath and shower. The TV had all the channels you would need and the best picture reception we have ever had on a holiday stay in the UK, plus there's a DVD player and an XBOX which has the connect and a couple of games and 1 controller. There are some DVD's in the barn, some books and lots of info/literature on local attractions and walks. To sum it up Wibdon Barn is awesome and we would definately recommend a stay.
