Palazzo Guglielmo is a small hotel - with an interesting history- in a quiet village in Puglia, Southern Italy, about an hours drive from Brindisi airport (2,5-3 hours from Bari). If you wish to relax and get away from it all this is a wonderful place; the hospitality by Mauro, Christina, Lisa and the whole team is outstanding; the breakfasts are superb; and there is a lovely garden and small pool as well. The rooms, while not luxurious, are fine - just the beds may need new mattresses. And there is a nice restaurant directly next to the Palazzo so you don't have to go out for lunch or dinner.
If you fancy beaches, the sea is only a few minutes away (you need a rental car to get around). Lecce, Otranto and Santa Maria de Leuca are close by as well and all worth a visit. Only advise - try to avoid the summer months (July, August) as it can be very hot, and the families with kids make the overall experience slightly less peaceful.
Other than that this is a wonderful hideaway in a good location with lovely hosts - highly recommended.More
