“Nusa Lembongan's Best Kept Secret (until now...)”

Rumah Kayu, Nusa Lembongan’s Best Kept Secret (maybe not now?)
As a frequent visitor to Indonesia since 1979 and N.L. in ’82 few places stand-out and draw me back as does Rumah Kayu…everything seems right in the world when you are there, so much so that we have a standing booking every two years and I can now ‘go public’ and share it with you - without the fear of missing out!
Over the times that I’ve stayed there, be it with alone, with other couples, or with other families with young kids or young adults, the magic is that the property seems to suit every occasion. Everyone can come together or find their own space. My most recent visit this year saw the property tastefully redecorated with new custom-made furniture, more mod-con’s plus the addition of another separate bedroom and ensuite along with a recreation room, taking the capacity comfortably to twelve. I’ve come to love the ‘off-season’ between October and November and February to March – a lot more chilled and refreshing than during high season, especially if combined with a stay on Bali or Lombok, avoiding the crowds and hassles.
The property is brilliantly located, having 2000m2 (1/2 acre) of private, manicured grounds beach-side , the large pool with an adjoining, serviced pavilion within easy reach adds another level of luxury and to the property. Dealing with local owners, Simon and Linda is such a pleasure and having their managers Made, Gian and Gede right next door, is a dream. They seem to have thought of everything you may need. Just let them know what you require are and they’ll take care of the details, be it activities, organising dining options or even an amazing massage therapy, whatever you desire.

As part of a two week Bali holiday we kicked off with 7 days at Villa Rumah Kayu. Everything about this piece of paradise was perfect for the entire family. Unbelievable views, yoga in the garden, boat rides straight from the back door and unreal surfing a short paddle away.

The staff were awesome and we are already planning our return.

“WOW”

My husband, our two boys, aged 12 and 15, and my friend stayed at Rumah Kayu for 3 nights. We had an amazing time. The villa itself is beautiful and serene. The location is superb for lounging by the pool, hanging out on the beach or walking along the cliff trail into the village where the restaurants and shops can be found.
Kadek, Made and Gian made our experience Five Star. They saw to our every need, from renting SUP boards for us to use, arranging for snorkeling, making restaurant reservations and setting up transportation. A highlight was the daily massages given by Gian on the breezy patio with the birds singing and scent of the ocean and flowers. Heaven. We would HIGHLY recommend this little piece of paradise.

“Beautiful villa”
Reviewed 12 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My family stayed in Rumah Kayu with our friends, 4 adults and 4 kids in total, and there is so much space to enjoy this beautiful spot. The staff are so helpful and lovely. We had a great time and hope to return again.

“This Villa needs a rating higher than 5!”

There wouldn't be a rating high enough to properly explain this Villa! From the beautifully air conditioned bedrooms, to the fully functional kitchen, comfrey lounge, amazing deck & infinity pool with the most amazing view on the island -- we don't want to go home! When our boys weren't surfing Bonti, Playgrounds & Lacerations, they were 'back home' playing Badminton with Giday, swimming and eating Giant's beautiful breakfasts. The grounds are immaculate and the location is perfection. Thank you Simon & Madé! See you next time, we're already planning on it!
