Sandambeki Rock Cliff

The nature cliff is amazing made with nature ocean wave, by taking the elevator down to more than 12 stories, around 120 metres, to the button of cliff, you can suddenly feel the power of wave, and when sea water hit the rock, it can make great sound and splash which is amazing.

I really liked this place! It's beautiful and you have an incredible view. It's a bike trip from the main beach and worth a visit.

Very beautiful high oceanside cliffs. A 1300-yen elevator ride takes you down ocean level into a system of caves and tunnel where you can see/hear in rushing waves. Samurai naval warrios used that as a hiding place back in the samurai warring era. It was a 2.5-hour casual walk from the Shirahama Seaside Onsen Hotel to this point. One can catch the bus but walking is faster from going from one scenic spot to the next one.

The visit to this rock cliff cannot be without the trip down to the cave. Which is why this attraction charges so expensively for the short journey down via a lift to the cave carved out by the ocean and tectonic forces. 1300 yen per adult. Can't remember the price for the kids but my younger one who is 5 went down free.

At the cave level there is a path marked out for visitors. Follow the path and you will get to some lookouts to see the power of the waves. There is a shrine dedicated to the Japanese gods below.

If you drive to this attraction, remember not to park at the convenience store where parking is charged at a fee. Instead just drive to the lookout and you will see a lane where taxis enter and there is a place where cars are parked there free.

This attraction covers two parts. First, you can just visit the cliff and enjoy the view, and to take some photos for free. Second, you can choose to pay to go 30-40M down and visit the cave. Inside the cave, there is a shrine, a small display of how the privates used to live there, and most importantly, the sea waves.
