“A great secluded get away”

A comfortable cottage in a remote location, suited us very well.
There are a wide variety of places to explore within the vicinity including easy-drive to Lamberis through the mountains, and plenty of woodlands and lakes to explore.
We will definitely be booking again.

“Beautiful idyllic location”
Reviewed 7 October 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We enjoyed our stay at the boat house very much. Its a lovely location, overlooking a lake. You can see the steam train going past from the garden. There is a short drive along a private track. Lovely location to walk around the local area. There is lots to do in the vicinity, and lots of industrial heritage.

We enjoyed using the wood burner inside the house, we also made a fire in the fire pit in the garden. The house has everything you need, and modern. My only criticism would be that it would be helpful to have some simple instructions as to how to use all the appliances in the kitchen. We were baffled by the very posh microwave! And maybe it might be nice to have some basics on arrival, e.g. washing up liquid/antibac spray/ tea towels/ salt/ pepper. We advise that if you are arriving late that you bring your groceries with you.

Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful location.

“Lovely stay”

We had a great time at the boat house. Great location, very well furnished and equipped. The closeness to the steam railway and the lake made it even better

“If you have kids then book the boathouse”
Reviewed 29 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Been here twice now and the kids love it ,with walks, lake, campfires just on the doorstep.ffestiniog railway goes right by the boathouse, situated up in the hills makes it very peaceful . just 15 min walk to Tan y bwlch station to catch steam train to porthmadoc or Blaenau .there is no wifi but we did find u can use 3g to get internet and you need to be sitting on the doorstep of the boathouse as this spot was the only place it would work. very clean place and rope swings are fun .a walk map of the area is a must as its fun going on the walks.we just had 2 weeks here and with no car and we went everywhere. Asda will even deliver to the boathouse door as they did for us ..we recommend this place ,and seeing the bats flying around at dusk and dawn is great and hearing the owls calling in the night can be scary lol. one more thing if you are going to use the steam train a lot then get a fob card from porthmadoc or Blaenau station as u get 10% of all travel on the steam train. Just like to say ty to giles for another great holiday .
