Stay at Buccaneers Cintsa

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 02 Sept 2019
Beautiful surrounds with lovely views. We stayed in Kei Apple room. A modern section with around 5 rooms all en suite with a communal kitchen and braai. Beautifully appointed and spotless. Rooms modern and very clean . Wi Fi not available as a way from reception. Option to self cater or eat supplied meals which were excellent. Plenty of attractions of beach, paddling- free 😁 horse riding and local areas to see including golf course. A really awesome stay. Noted not a wheelchair friendly resort
Date of stay: September 2019
Room Tip: Variety of options from tents to deluxe. Best to phone or google for options. Our block very quiet.

This was perhaps one of my 2 favourite hostels in SA (the other beings Dijembes in Storms River).

Stunning location, overlooks the sea and river with truly amazing views. Tonnes of activities (they even have kayaks and SUPs you can just take out for free in the lagoon), and the beach is only a short walk away. They do a very reasonably priced family style meal in the evenings which is a great way to meet people, and then their bar in the evening is great fun.

I stayed in a dorm on my own and in a tent with my girlfriend for a bit. The dorms are really good although could do with more plugs, and the tent was great but a little bit of a walk to the bathrooms. They have private rooms however they were really pricey so we didn’t stay there, only advice to them would be to do cheaper basic private rooms.

Perfect location, nice people, nice weather and nice cleaning. Love the staff and the food, will be back! Recommend the pink bicycle to the local kindergarden. Had also a massage, that was great. Stayed in the suites - and they are very nice!

I have stayed at Buccaneers many times over the years and spent 4 days with them last week.
The view is spectacular and the accommodation is outstanding for a backpackers.
Cee, the young Zulu barman ( who doesn’t drink) is an amazing young man - as is Emma the Xhosa receptionist. Super efficient!
The bathrooms are clean and there was always hot water. The gardens are well maintained and the kitchen was spotless.
Thankyou Sean for making Buccaneers so special..

My daughter and I stayed at Buccaneers many times over our six month stay in South Africa. We found the facilities satisfactory, the food wonderful, the staff welcoming and the view breathtaking. The bar generally had a 'party' vibe and the bar staff were generally, warm and good fun. There are regular activities provided, many of them free - and the beach, just a stone's throw away, is out of this world. The range of accommodation accounts for everyone's needs and pockets, from backpackers needing a place to rest their head for the night, to families that can cosy up in one of the pretty cottages available. If you visit South Africa, you won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Buccaneers :) We made some life-long friends and will be sure to return.

We stayed one night at Buc's as we were travelling from CT to the Transkei.
The Deluxe Sea View En-Suites which had the most beautiful view, was perfect for our stay. All the basics, clean, light and spacious enough for two people to relax and get a good nights sleep. We enjoyed an incredible dinner cooked by the Buc's team and dined with other travelers and loved the connective sense of community and getting to hear everyone's travel stories.

A drink at the Buc's bar is a total must! The staff where lovely and helpful with a few requests we had. Wish we had stayed longer because Cinsta is honestly a beautiful place! I was really impressed that Buc's has such a major impact and involvement on the community so next time I would not mind getting more involved in some of the programs they host.

A must if you are travelling through the Eastern Cape area!!
