If you are looking for somewhere to get away from it all and unwind then look no further than Kalados Studios. You will receive a warm welcome from Elias and Georgia the owners, Labro the waiter and Flora the chef who go out of their way to make your stay special.
The food on the menu in the taverna below the studios is excellent but they are happy to cook anything else that you ask for, which suited me as a non-meat eater, so fish and special vegetarian dishes were happily prepared especially for me.
The accommodation is simple but of a high standard for Greece, including air conditioning, ceiling fans, wifi, a good hair drier and shower. Everything is extremely clean and well looked after and the sea views from the balconies are wonderful. The studios are set in a very rural area with a nice beach below them, we often had it all to ourselves and never saw more than 20 people on it at any one time. I would advise buying a parasol before you arrive at Kalados as there is very little shade on the beach.
A car is a must because of the location, it is a 50 minute drive to Filoti for the nearest shops and restaurants but the scenery on-route is amazing and there is very little traffic, you are more likely to see goats, sheep or donkeys on the road than another car!
I found it easy to make contact through their website, Zeta has excellent english and was happy to answer all my questions and help me with booking a car.
If you want to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty and traditional hospitality of Greece this is the place for you. By the end of our two week stay we were totally chilled out and felt like part of the family.
