We are lucky enough to be only an hour or so away from this site, so for us it is perfect for a last minute weekend break. Collect the children from school and just go! You also have passess for the Shorefield Site a few miles away that has a swimming pool, so if there weather is not great you can always have a swim! There is a grass camping field with some electric hook ups, these are towards the top of the field near the toilet and shower blocks (always clean and tidy) it is on a slight hill so if you are in caravan it is easier to be towards the top and the bottom of the field can get a little soggy with loads of rain. The premier pitches are all on flat ground and a reasonable size to allow for caravan, awning and car with room for children to play. The toilet facilites are lovely, very clean and modern even with music playing!!! Small but well stocked shop! We often pay a small additional fee which enables us to stay on the pitch til later in the day, about 4pm, so it makes the holiday that much longer. Lymington is a few miles up the road which has a market every Saturday morning, lovely to wander and let the children spend a few pennies. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone whether they wanted a weekend break a fortnight to explore the delights of the New Forest and surrounding areas.

Room tip: There is road adjacent to the site, when booking we just ask to be away from the road and they are always happy to help.

We stayed here last week for 5 nights - the mrs and my 14 year old boy.
The site is immaculate, the showers are hot, the toilets are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the shop is well stocked (with very reasonably priced red wine - see below) and the electric supply as standard for each pitch is win (Ipod dock, lights, kettle, mobile phone chargers - 21st century camping man :p).
You can also use the facilities in the much larger sister site down the road - pool (very nice), steam room, sauna, etc and most importantly, a small but well stocked fishing lake. My lad brought his rod and spent many happy hours here (you do need a rod license though). He seemed to catch a fish about every 10 minutes, so I am assuming that the fish are pretty dumb down those parts or it has just 1 fish that is addicted to cherry flavoured bait :p
The site is in spitting distance of the New Forest, Bournemouth, Southampton and some nice walks along the local cliffs - we never struggled for something to do (5 days weren't really enough).
Anyhoo - just 1 very minor niggle and this ain't the campsites fault: we were pitched near the loos - the doors squeak a bit, you can hear the hand driers and the kids don't go to bed until around 10.30 and all pile into the toilet block just before then. However, on night 2 we tried a revolutionary solution - the afore mentioned red wine from the shop - worked a treat and we slept like babies.
So .............would really, really recommend. Will hopefully go back next year - thanks guys.

Generally well looked after little camp site near the main road. As mentioned before there is traffic noise during the day and we had what sounded like clay pigeon shooting on Saturday morning opposite the site. Night time noise is not noticable. Games room and small fenced playground for children. Toilet and shower block are cleaned regularly, warm and well decorated. Spar shop on site with daily bread and newspapers. There is a recycling facility near the shop, but look for it as the sign is overgrown! Pitches are large, no hedges but trees around the site plus numerous water points. Point to watch - although early in the sesaon there were already some pitches with very bald areas due to groundsheet use. There is no groundsheet policy on the site. As we don't use one I would not have been happy if we had been allocated such a pitch and been walking on bare earth. Well situated site for sightseeing. Had 2 meals at the Red Lion in MIlford on Sea, good food at good prices.

Thank you for your review.
Just to make you aware it is incorrect that we do not allow groundsheets.

We have been to this site twice and we highly recommend it. The loos and showers are very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is there is some noise from the road but this quietens down at night so it wasn’t a problem (we could hear the owls). We took our bikes and cycled into Milford on Sea and also to Keyhaven. This is a lovely area to walk and cycle and the salt marshes are beautiful. There is a quieter back road to Keyhaven so not necessary to walk along the busy road (although there is a pavement). One night we went to the South Lawn Hotel, a bit posh but they happily served us a meal in the bar, freshly made steak and kidney pudding which was very tasty.
