We have been to this site twice and we highly recommend it. The loos and showers are very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is there is some noise from the road but this quietens down at night so it wasn’t a problem (we could hear the owls). We took our bikes and cycled into Milford on Sea and also to Keyhaven. This is a lovely area to walk and cycle and the salt marshes are beautiful. There is a quieter back road to Keyhaven so not necessary to walk along the busy road (although there is a pavement). One night we went to the South Lawn Hotel, a bit posh but they happily served us a meal in the bar, freshly made steak and kidney pudding which was very tasty.

This is probably the fifth time we've stayed here, the site has mains hookup and good shower and laundry facilities for campers.

The site people who look after this site have always been very polite and accommodating. While you are using the site you can also use the facilities at the sister site just 2 miles down the road.

We stayed here for 2 nights during the first weekend in October. Check-in was straightforward and the paperwork had already been prepared which saved time. The warden was very knowledgeable and showed us places to cycle and how to get to their sister site - Shorefield Country Park where the indoor/outdoor swimming pools, spa, gym, supermarket and launderette are, we didn't use these but cycled up there to take a look.
There are 2 toilet and shower blocks at Lytton Lawn, one for serviced pitches (electric hook up) and one for premier pitches (hardstanding with hook up, water & drainage). The pitches are a good size and we were pleased to have been allocated a pitch on the outside of the site as the middle was a little crowded with several tents and wind breaks. I can only speak for the facilities within the serviced pitches and they were very good, the pot wash had 3 outdoor sinks and some indoors, both with plenty of hot and cold water. The toilet block (Ladies side) contained 4 showers again with plenty of hot water, a number of toilets and a hairdryer. The block was cleaned 3 times a day and there are cloths and a mop left there for use should you feel it was needed. The only recommendation would be to give the shower heads a good limescale clean as the water was in all directions and sometimes went outside the curtain soaking the floor.
The shop on site is well stocked with essentials items to eat, drink and for the tent, they even have a freezer stocked with burgers, fishfingers, ice etc should you have forgotten anything.
We cycled into Lymington for the day along the coastal cycle path which had great views over Hurst Castle, I believe you can walk along a nearby path but this would take quite a long time.
There's so much to see and do in the New Forest and this is a great base, we would stay here again.
