I have been coming to Scotland for 20 years and love playing links golf there. This may be the most authentic of links courses. Community centered, has livestock grazing on many holes, electric fences on every green to keep them off, classic design with nine out and nine holes back. Lovely clubhouse, friendly staff and good caddies.
My only regret is that I had not played here before. I am ready to return anyday!!
The restaurant here is very serene and service is wonderful. My food selection was very good. The view is to die for including the sheep and lambs grazing just outside the windows.
A great links course but SOOOOO many blind tee shots and to be honest I got tired of driving a ball down the middle of the fairway and then losing it - on mentioning this to both Bora Staff and other locals this course is apparently famous for this. To be fair the rest or my group liked it more than me, but personally for me, the frustrations outweighed the joy.
The views on a good day are stunning however the views on a bad day are also stunning. The course is the feature and it p,as well in good and bad weather. The first time I played it it was very very wet. So why did I go back and become a country member, because the course will always be the best course I ever play. The 4 par 3’s. Go north south east and West and you pray the wind is behind on the back nine coming home but it invariably never is. I can not wait to play again next year.
Brora golf course is an amazing test of golf and it is maintained to a very high standard. It is one of the best manicured golf courses I have played. Friendly welcome from Pro and great hints how to play some of the more difficult holes. The day i played was blue skies and little wind but still this James Braid course made you think before each shot. Finally, the lady who looked after us in club house for our refreshments completed a wonderful experience.
We learned that the last orders would be taken by about 6:30 PM so we booked a table at 6:00. When we arrived there was only one other person there. The crowd left before 6:00. The service was spotty and not all items on the menu were available. We ordered, ate and left by 7:15. The food was okay. Check on what’s happening the day you want to eat dinner here.
