“A must do!”

Reviewed 28 June 2018 via mobile

We rented a kayak from the Nelson ghost town folks and had a wonderful time here. Spent 4 hours putting around, jumping off the rocks and just lazing in the river.

Nice get away from the strip.

Make a day of it!

We went in mid May and it was too cold to go in the water (snow melt from the mountains). In the summer when the water is warmer it would be a great place to cool off.

Wear good shoes to walk from the car park as it is rocky and dusty.

The peace and quiet was disturbed by a family in the car park blasting loud music and another on the beach.

My friends and I have been coming to this location for about 13 years. back then there were less people going there, now so many people know about it, it's become a trash bin since visitors have a lack of respect and become a cancer to once relaxing locations. But in it's cleaner days, Nelson's Landing was a great place to take a 20 ft dive into the Colorado River and have a bbq and a few drinks (and clean up responsibly unlike the trashy people nowadays)

A lot of history here with it being wiped out in the 1974 flood. Beautiful views and well worth driving to see.

Skip the ghost town and go straight to the little area. It was amazing. We went swimming and spoke to locals. Everyone was nice
