We stayed in Loppersum for a weekend and had two great dinners (take away because of covid) at the Meer brasserie. Thank you for the excellent food and service! We definitely recommend it

Loppersum is a tiny place and we were pleasantly surprised to find this friendly brasserie open. We had been travelling all day but only wanted a light supper.
The courgette soup was was delicious, well seasoned and came accompanied by bread with herb butter and ham.
Service was friendly and relaxed and we were able to use the free WiFi to plan the next bit of our journey. I’d definitely recommend this as an off the beaten track find!

Considering it is litterally attached to Albert Hein we didnt get the feeling of being near a supermarket. However if we had sat the near the large window / entrance it might have been different.
1 the waitress had obviuosly been told to tell a ridiculously long story about the food...we had forgotten most of what she said in the delivery.
2 i asked for a glass of water ...wasnt allowed tap water...only bottled! Restaurant Veldzicht in Ooosterwijdwerd asked us if we wanted a glass of water and then served a lovely carafe with four glasses. They got no tip from me because of this...the price of the water and positive feedback...the klant is koning! There is also nothing wrong with Groningen water...lovely after you have lived in London.
3 the food / drink total was more expensive than Veldzicht ....a better quality restaurant (by far) with a lovely atmosphere.
4 so nothing really wrong with the food etc ...just some silly points the owner needs to address re: rules and price/ quality for location.
It will be best served in my opion by being a pizza / italian type restaurant than something its prentending to be that its not!
