“Absolute gem of a property run by the nicest people!”
Reviewed 1 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed here in October 2015 and found the property perfect. It's a great house with lovely grounds and a great pool. The location is great, remote enough to enjoy peace and quiet but still near enough to do great day trips to Gallipoli, Otranto, Lecce etc. Bill (the owner) is an absolute gent who helped us out with everything we needed (incl. getting a tractor to pull our car out of a ditch) it's a great place for kids and again they had everything down to kids cutlery and they loved the pool. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Very good accommodation excellently organised by helpful owner who is nearby but not intrusive. Perfectly located for exploring the towns of south Puglia. definitely a good choice!

“Wonderful place to stay in the olive groves of the Salento”
Reviewed 5 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Excellent villa with great covered outdoor eating and lounging space. Very efficient ceiling fans in hot weather if you don't want to use the airco. WiFi connection pretty good. Fresh figs in the garden. Peaceful rural location but easy short drive to both the Adriatic and Ionian coasts.
The local town Cutrofiano is a few minutes drive away and there is a small but very good supermarket there. We liked Peppino's bar in Cutrofiano. Great for morning coffee.
Bill, the owner, is so helpful.
A perfect place to stay.

“Blissful”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The villa was wonderful. The photographs really do not do this lovely home justice. It was like arriving in heaven. The villa has been furnished beautifully with everything you could possibly need (even UK plug sockets!). Staying when it was so hot we really found the dozens of children's films useful, as my 3 year old could sit inside during the hottest part of the day and happily watch films. The setting is really beautiful, with fruit trees surrounding and the pool was ideal for us.
Bill was lovely and very helpful.
This really is a 'get away from it' stay, which was just what we wanted. In fact apart from the supermarket and a trip to Lecce we hardly moved from the villa for the whole week. I could not recommend this enough, a wonderful place to stay.
Sat nav is needed in Italy in our opinion. Thank you.

“Perfect idyll in unspoilt corner of Italy.”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Casa della Mora is the most thoughtfully presented property we have ever stayed in. Even down to the British plug sockets available. The welcome pack was fabulous and gave us an immediate taste for the delicious (and incredibly cheap) local wine! Bill could not have been more helpful and attentive, but never obtrusive. He booked restaurants for us and was a wealth of knowledge about the local area. The villa was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. Outside the villa, the terrace and barbecue are fantastic. And the pool - perfect for floating around in, enjoying the chirping of the crickets.
It was the hottest summer for fifty years when we were there, but the villa was surprisingly cool. It was lovely to stay somewhere where the fans were actually quiet, fully functioning and efficient.
We flew in to Bari as the flight times were more convenient than Brindisi. A two hour drive took us to the villa - if you follow Bill's instructions carefully, you find it easily. The local supermarkets now seem to open on Sundays too, so that was very convenient. A kilo of Parmigiano Reggiano for 10 euros a kilo (50 euros in Duty Free) was a bargain that could not be ignored. An experience not to be missed is an evening at Le Stanzie, a beautifully converted masseria that produced the most delicious food, with copious amounts of wine, for 30 euros a head. Our teenagers loved it. No menu... Just loads of gorgeous, locally produced food. For a cheap but cheerful pizza, check out Ca de Be in Collepasso.
A visit to Lecce is a must! A beautiful and vibrant city, with very few tourists, just locals out enjoying the atmosphere and restaurants.
If you are looking for a holiday in a part of Italy which is beautiful, traditional and not touristy, then we recommend Puglia. We can't wait to go back!
