I stayed at Santa Caterina with my two boys (ages 11 and 7) and my extended family (parents and siblings) for a week in June and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The property is beautiful and quiet, and the villa was very well appointed. My boys had a wonderful time in the pool and hot tub, and also enjoyed the playroom toys and games. Stefano and Gaspare were wonderful hosts and took care of our every need including having their caretaker and wife cook a delicious 4 course Umbrian meal for us one evening. Perugia, Assisi and many of the other historic Umbrian towns were in close proximity, and made for easy day trips, though there were definitely days where we simply relaxed around the villa and did nothing! It was a perfect family vacation.
We have just got back from our stay at the villa and we had a fantastic time. We were a party of 12, including a baby. The villa accommodated us very comfortably and it was great having an en-suite per room. The booking process was very smooth with Stefano. I was a little nervous booking direct with the owner and not using credit card, but we could pay the deposit by PayPal and the balance when we arrived.
Stefano met us at the villa and gave us a good brief on how everything worked. The villa is great with all ages. The children loved the swings, play area and the table tennis table.
The only negative point is the electric usage. We were surprised at how quickly we went through 300kw. We did put the heater on the jacuzzi for 2 nights, so we could use it and used the air conditioning in teo of the rooms for a couple of hours at night. At the end of the week, we paid an extra €75, which wasn't much between 3 families.
Overall, it was a great stay and we would go back.
We spent one week in Santa Caterina this summer and we had a great time! I still remember the intake of breath when we drove into the grounds of the house. It's beautiful - typically Italian, spacious, incredible views, comfortable rooms. We went with my best friend and his family and the house suited both adults and children alike. The children loved the amount of space and the pool, and the adults loved that too! It felt safe, and I loved the various places you could eat both inside and out. I would absolutely recommend this house - I have very happy memories. A little tip: drink the good Sagrantino (a local red wine) with BBQed fiorentina. You wont forget it!

A terrific casale for interior and well being staying... Amazing location, very friendly owners, comfortable interior design, nature all around and a relaxing jacuzzi directly close to the stars... The location is in epicentral position to visit the ancient and medieval Italy. In the neighborood Perugia, Todi, spello, Assisi, Terni and marmore' waterfalls. Just outside the door (under 2 hour drive): Rome!
my recommended period for maximum enjoying is June.
