Great place to stay although I wasn't prepared for the access. Of course I should have been! The accommodation is on one of the cliff face terraces of Beynac. Access to the garage is up a steep narrow road. Cathy met us at the supermarket and came with us to show the way. My husband and I were visiting from Australia and meeting our daughter and family from Berlin so we had a lot of luggage. From the garage it's down a cobbled path to the private path to access the house. Once there, it's wonderful! Cathy has thought of everything. The kitchen is well equipped, the cupboard stocked with all you might need, the furnishings tasteful and comfortable and how fabulous to see that view every morning- it's just as the photo shows and is beautiful even on a misty morning. We had hot weather most days and the children loved the pool which is automatically cleaned and safely fenced. Only regret is not having fitted in a balloon ride. Next time! There's so much on offer in the area. St Cyprien market on a Sunday is a must.

We bought a garage to park two cars so that our tenants are not forced to park too far. We are aware that it is a luxury to park his vehicle in the middle of a village. Access may be surprising the first time but one broad vehicle can get there. We even tried with a truck and it worked !

“Brilliant Beynac rental on the banks of the Dordogne”

We spent a very enjoyable week in this lovely house. It had everything we could possibly need, in a great location, and the kids loved the pool on warm days. We have stayed in the equally excellent "Mont Joie" house next door 2 years ago, and whilst a little smaller than Mont Joie, the pool at les terraces was very welcome on this summer trip. The owner Catherine was very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this house to couples and families staying in the Dordogne.

Our house "Les Terrasses de Beynac" may be a bit smaller than Montjoie but has the advantage of having a large terrace with wonderful views of the river castles and terrace opens onto the lounge area kitchen and dining room. The second advantage is to have a private pool overlooking the river and a large garage easily accessible where you can park two cars.

“Fabulous view”

Sitting on the terrace was a delight. We had a stunning view of the Dordogne River and could see 3 castles on surrounding hills. The house has mostly stone walls and beamed ceilings. It was clean and stocked with the necessities; and we were quite comfortable. In particular, the bed was comfortable. Beynac is small and charming beyond words, with rather steep cobblestone roads. It is only a short distance from surrounding sights. Having a garage (as this house does) is pretty essential. If you have walking difficulties, Beynac is probably not the place for you.

“You'll want to spend all day on the terrace”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The outdoor space made our visit extra special. We spent a lot of time by the pool and enjoying meals on the terrace, looking at the beautiful river and hills. The view is serene, although down below is a busy little village with a lot of traffic noise, a small disadvantage, but easily overlooked. The home was quiet for sleeping and it was nice to have the nearby cafes and restaurants to visit.

The bedrooms were spacious, but the ones on the top floor were a little warm at night. The lower bedroom was a bit musty since it has a couple of walls made of earth. The kitchen was good and there was plenty of comfortable seating in the living room.

We enjoyed the pool and the small garden. The location is wonderful for all the local attractions and there is a parking space down the street. The owner, Catherine, was very nice to work with. Beynac's local farmer's market had the best bread, while the giant supermarket in Sarlat didn't have very good bread or produce. Visit the weekly farmer's market in Sarlat!

I am very surprised by this opinion and some reviews of these people because all our tenants are happy to stay in our home and enjoy the peace and quiet in the village, the magic of the view, the freshness of the house that is bioclimatic thanks to its thick stone walls but not wet !
We bring every year in winter improvements to the house for the greater comfort of our guests.

This is a beautiful property perfectly located in Beynac. We spent a very enjoyable week there - many hours just sat on the terrace watching the river.
