“A Room with a View”

This was our second visit to the excellent Villas for 2. David and Pauline were again exceptional hosts and we tagged along when they went to a local festa and had an fantastic night with the local community, who welcome you with open arms. The villa, as last year was spotlessly clean and the salt water pool was a must with temperatures in the 40's. This is an excellent and very comfortable base from which to explore the fantastic region of Abruzzo. We will be back for a third time, enough said!

“Villas for 2, Arbruzzo, the perfect combination.”

For the first time ever, I did not want to come home!! The Villa itself was absolutely delightful, it was just the right size and contained absolutely everything we needed. The location was truly lovely and to say the view was stunning under sells it. We arrived Saturday late evening, during the afternoon David called to check on our progress and to make sure all was well. On the Sunday morning we were taken on a tour of the local area, showing the important places like the best bread shop, cake shop, supermarket etc. This in itself saved us hours during our holiday because from day 1 we knew where to find all the essentials. In the Villa was a pack containing information on the local area and places to visit, with comments and directions and I would recommend to anybody to take a little time to read through because the information was invaluable. During our stay David booked restaurants for us, found information for us on everything we wanted to do, lent us maps and information and generally made sure we had everything we needed. David and Pauline were wonderful hosts, they really could not do enough for us.

The Arbruzzo region is fantastic, within half an hour of the Villa you can be on a beautiful beach or up the top of a mountain, the location is so peaceful, the only noise pollution was from the birds or the crickets. The pool was perfect and so welcome when we came home late afternoon and just wanted to relax and read for a couple of hours. Locally there were so many lovely eating places with everything available from Pizza to gourment dining.

I would recommend Villas for 2 to any couple who want to enjoy a taste of real Italy and I can't thank Pauline and David enough for such a wonderful holiday.

“Our third trip - still beautiful, still tranquil, and every bit as enjoyable as the first time!”

Our third trip out to Villasfor2 and we will certainly be back for a forth! This time we went right at the end of October, when it was cold wet and windy in the UK, to be greeted by 25+ degrees, pleasant sunshine and blue skies in Abruzzo.

We went for some fantastic walks, both straight from the villa (yes hilly, but a good pair oif walking shoes will suffice!) and further afield along mapped out walks around the lovely surrounding countryside. We got to watch the olive harvest on our doorstep too!

As always the villas were immaculate and David and Pauline could not have put themselves out more to ensure that our stay was as perfect as it could have been.

Thank you, once again, for a lovely holiday.

“Lovely but treacherous”

We spent 6 nites In mid-August. Abruzzo was suffering an extremely hot summer along with drought conditions. Hence, my first evening I slipped on the steep climb down from the car park, severing a knee injury. We did enjoy the pool area and the views. Location is a definite consideration for those travelers who enjoy an evening stroll, since the landscape does not allow that. Due to the extreme heat, the evenings were still and consequently, the bugs were relentless!! As an American traveler with six visits to Italy, three independently, the area of Abruzzo was one we wanted to explore. Both the Area and the property were not as enjoyable as we had hoped. Be prepared to remain on the villa property, since exploring the area for us in the evening after a glass or 2 of wine became prohibitive. I was hoping Villasfor2 would become a location we would frequent each year, however, my expectations were too high. We will not consider a return trip.

We've always taken the view that if we're prepared to accept 5-star reviews from guests who've really enjoyed their holiday with us, we must also be prepared to accept the reviews that aren't so great and understand that every once in a while a guest simply won't like the experience of staying here.

In fact a negative review has a highly positive effect in providing a bit of a wake-up call, stopping any complacency in its tracks and forcing us to evaluate what we might have done differently, or better, to to turn things around.

And while some would argue that no holiday facility anywhere in the world is going to fulfill the expectations of every guest, every time, that shouldn't allow us to simply shrug and sit back without giving it our best shot to prove exactly the opposite.

The key comment in this guest's review is that "Both the area and the property were not as enjoyable as we had hoped." While we're disappointed to read this, we have to point out that our website is packed with photos, descriptions and videos about us; our location; our villas; and our area of Abruzzo, all of which provide a fair, accurate and balanced picture of everything that's on offer.

And in the interests of fairness, we also have to mention that during their 6-day stay with us, these guests enjoyed:
- personalised Italian lessons in their villa
- a specially-arranged wine-tasting at an elite winery
- a specially-arranged lunch at a local agriturismo
- and visits to other local restaurants and attractions

Of course we're sad that despite all this, our guests still went home dissatisfied. Clearly, in their view, things could have been better. So while we can't do much about heat or bugs, (aside from the aircon and the flyscreens in each villa !) we'll continue to do our very best to provide great holidays that are remembered for all the right reasons - and not any wrong ones.

ps. Our guest mentions 'severing a knee injury'. This sounds highly alarming, but what we believe she means to say is 'suffering a knee injury', for which, despite our offers, she declined treatment or medical assistance.

“Amazing place, perfect hosts”

We had a very pleasant stay at Villas for 2. The beautiful apartments are light, bright and nicely decorated. And – above all – spotless clean! Like we said to each other: even if it is raining or cold, it’s not a punishment to sit inside!

The kitchen is equipped with all basic utensils and coffee, some beers, a bottle of water, salt & pepper etc. to get you started. In the villa you find a map full with information on towns, markets, restaurants and more. It saves you a lot of time finding the best restaurants in he area! And then the outside. The view from the terrace and pool over the hills and the Majella Mountains is terrific.

A car is necessary to explore the region. And why would you not? Ok, staying at a sun bed near the pool is very tempting, but the Abruzzo has more to offer. The region is unspoiled, beautiful and people are friendly and welcoming. Especially when you try to speak a couple of words in Italian. With Villasfor2 as our home base we visited nearby villages like Altino (with an little authentic fresh pasta-shop with ravioli at € 14,- a kilo: a real bargain!), Casoli and Guardiagrele, the beach and sea near Fossacesia Marina. A bit further you find the beautiful scenery of the Nature Reserve park of Punto Arderci and the city of Vasto. We want to highlight two things we did: having dinner at a traditional Trabocco (http://www.traboccopescepalombo.it/) and a daytrip from Termoli to the Isole Tremiti. Both highly enjoyable experiences!

Concluding; we had a very, very good time at Villas for 2. An amazing spot, perfectly hosted by Pauline and David!
