Arcangelo and his wife are the most welcoming hosts in Salina. Their hotel is perfectly located a few hundred meters from the harbour. They cared about our wellbeing all over our stay and suggested the best restaurants around. We recommend their hotel to families and people looking for a quiet and calm place.

Stayed for 3 nights in September. Our first impression on arrival wasn't good as we were shown a room stuck down in a canyon between 2 accommodation blocks (room 13). Initially because of communication difficulties we thought there was no alternative and were getting a bit depressed but when we persisted and with the help of Marina who had some English an alternate room was offered which was much superior, even having partial sea views (room 1). From then on we liked Hotel Arcangelo. Hotel is a pleasant place with lovely views from the common areas and many of the rooms. The room we had was reasonably good with a large terrace in front with table and chairs and space for drying towels/clothes if you needed it. Breakfast was reasonable (not best we had in terms of choice, but fine). The staff were helpful and friendly. Santa Marina is just a few minutes walk down the hill. Warning though - mosquitoes were a real problem. I got about 30 bites over the 3 days/nights I stayed in S Marina so strongly recommend having protection if using the terrace in the morning or the evening and also have a deterrent in the room itself at night time. Even though the room has insect screens on the windows and AC it was very hard to keep them out.

Room tip: try and get a room with a view or partial view. Room 13 is in a deep canyon.

Such a wonderful relaxing place to stay. We stayed 6 nights. After an initial issue with the wifi we moved rooms. Staff were very friendly and accommodating especially the breakfast staff with a fleshing cooked cake every day. No toaster though. Spotlessly clean and rooms are comfortable. The pool was a bit cold but great to lounge around after a busy day. Restaurant close by was great too. Reasonably priced. They will also do a load of washing for £5 and put it on a close airer. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Hotel Arcangelo. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. Although the owner does not speak much English, a member of his staff, Emmanual, was able to translate and took excellent care of us. We booked the room with the panoramic terrace, and it was AMAZING. The pictures do not do it justice. There is nothing more peaceful and relaxing than sitting on the terrace with a nice bottle of white Sicilian wine, that you can buy in-town and chill in your refrigerator.

The room itself was very nice, with a flat screen TV, two desks, ample wardrobe space, and a nice Aeolian style. The bed was quite firm, but this seems typical in Europe. The bathroom was spacious and functional.

I would also highly recommend the hotel's restaurant, Tinkite. We ate there twice during our 4-day stay, it was that good!

We can't wait to go back!

Room tip: The panoramic room is worth splurging for!

As soon as we arrived we were made so welcome and the room we had was lovely with the most stunning view from the terrace over the islands of Stromboli and Lipari and Panarea. The breakfasts were lovely and all so fresh, including the best cakes in Sicily. We stayed for 4 days and will definitely return for a longer stay next time.
