A gem of a place in the village of Lija, with a small number of covers and a menu that changes regularly, enough to make you want to return to the place. The food is high end in both its presentation and its taste, as well as its price. The choice for Coeliacs is very limited, although the chef offered to adjust some dishes accordingly to make them free from gluten. Gluten free sliced bread was supplied, the risotto was tasty, the lamb belly was recommended, but wasn't much to my liking, and I regret being swayed by the maitre d' to choose it over the lamb fillet. The GF dessert choice, as is often the case, was limited to sorbet and therefore I abstained, opting for a lovely glass of Port instead. Would I go back? For the food, yes. The chef is clearly excellent. For the gluten free bread, no! Rustic or white ciabatta rolls are so easily available in every supermarket nowadays, that for an establishment of this kind, providing sliced GF bread is a huge no-no! As for the Maitre d' - his condescending attitude throughout and his insistence at calling us "young ladies", umpteen times, when we clearly weren't (and judging by previous reviews I see now that it is a common habit of his) - left us with such a bad taste in our mouths that it was enough to make us want to never return, except maybe when the maitre d' is replaced .......

Thank you for your feedback. First of all, we apologise for the inconvenience we may have created on the day. We are pleased you found and shared positive aspects during your experience and for that we are grateful. Since you visited, we have addressed the “young ladies” comment. We are sorry if that may have offended you. We can assure you that it was not said with any bad intention or sarcasm. Nevertheless, we addressed that issue and it won’t happen again.

With regards to the gluten free items on our menu, we have taken note of feedback from our guests over the past weeks and we now have a fully dedicated menu for people who prefer gluten free dishes. Whilst we are aware we cannot go back to the day you visited, we apologise once again and we can assure you that in both cases we have taken our measures.

A breath of fresh air to find a restaurant like this, as soon as you book you know your in for a treat. The whole experience was perfect, beautiful food, the waiters care and know all about service. We are going back for our last night of the holiday. They provide complimentary taxis which a great touch. Can recommend highly enough.

We dined at Bahia after a recommendation from another couple also staying at the Corinthia Palace. The complimentary taxi is a lovely touch.

The restaurant is designed simply but elegantly with great attention to detail - even the toilets which is always a good tell of an establishment that cares for the overall customer experience.

Our food was totally divine - oysters to die for ( pricey at €5 each but definitely worth it). Beautifully presented dishes and thoughtful combinations of flavours.

Arthur the Sommelier was really great, passionate , knowledgable and sincere.

If you are a foody this is a must experience when you are in Malta.

Thank Paula P

The food was invariably excellent - fresh produce, unusual seasoning and interesting presentation. A bit pricey for what one gets. I have been there several times and prefer the atmosphere in the evening, when it is quite popular. At first we were put off by the service - an over-zealous head waiter and several quiet cadet waiters, but it improved over time. Worth a visit.
