“Perfect in Everyway”
Reviewed 26 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We have had 2 wonderful weeks at Walnut House. From the welcome from Wendy and Chris to the end of the holiday. The welcome Hamper and the lovely treats for our 3 dogs was well recieved. The weather was a bonus as we had sunshine for 2 weeks. But there is plenty to do if the weather was bad, you could easily enjoy the days in the indoor pool, hot tub or play pool, darts or board games. Very wheelchair friendly as we had our 91 year old Mum with us and having the lift and wide corridors made it so much easier for us.
Thank you Wendy and Chris and hopefully will see you both next year.

“Outstanding again - family holiday heaven!!”
Reviewed 12 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We have just spent a week at Walnut House, as a family of 9 plus dogs. This was our second stay, so we knew what to expect & were hoping it was as good as last year. I am pleased to say that for us, it was even better than last year & I hope we are able to visit every year now!

The house is beautiful, with a great layout & very well equipped. Chris & Wendy are just great at what they do & it really shows with all the repeat custom year after year. They are so kind, accommodating & friendly. They are seconds away should you need anything, but also leave you to have your holiday so you barley even know they are there! The pool was lovely & warm for my little 16 month old & he loved swimming every day. The hot tub was great for us older ones to relax in & the balcony is so stunning to enjoy the sunsets each evening.

The games room & swimming pool have a great interlinking sound system for playing music so you can swim to music – either bring your own CDs or link up your phone via Bluetooth. The pool table & darts board provided good entertainment each night especially as none of us are really any good at either of these! Downstairs in the games room there is a nice widescreen TV with Sky & upstairs in the lounge is a widescreen TV with Freeview – having these gave us the option to split off & watch what we wanted in the evenings as having an age gap of 83 years from oldest to youngest meant that what we liked to watch often differed.

The bedrooms have lovely comfy beds with two twin rooms, one double & two king. All have en-suite bar one twin room, which has its own bathroom right next door. The bathrooms are all very clean & well maintained. We took a travel cot for our little one but one can be provided on request.

There are an abundance of local attractions just a stones throw away & within the games room hallway is a leaflet display to help you pick what you may like to do each day – most of these also contain money off vouchers… bonus! Although I must say, most days we didn’t even want to drag ourselves away from the beautiful house as there is so much to do here.

There are lots & lots of things I could say about this place but bottom line is that it’s a fantastic self catering property owned by a lovely family who really do seem to think of everything. My son even enjoyed it so much it’s the best he has ever slept while we where there! I will always cherish my memories of the holidays spent here with my family.

Thank you again Chris & Wendy.

“Long weekend at Walnut House”
Reviewed 4 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Returned home yesterday from a fantastic weekend away at Walnut House. Me and my partner, and 3 other couples try to have a couple of weekend get togethers each year, and we have stayed in this type of accommodation a few times. I have to say that Walnut House is up there with the best of them..from the moment we pulled up at the electric gates to the property, where the Owners, Chris & Wendy were there to warmly greet us, and then give us a guided tour of the place, we felt as ease and made very welcome. They are a delightful couple who clearly take pride in what they do. After being shown around the property,we allocated each couple a bedroom, and so began a weekend of lovely relaxation,in a fantastic location. The house is large, but retains a feel of coziness, each room is tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, with 4 en-suite rooms, and 1 twin room, with a bathroom right next door. The main living area, and the bedrooms are upstairs, but the is a lift just inside the front door, so very wheelchair/elderly accessible. The upstairs living area opens onto a large balcony, which has lovely views overlooking the local countryside. There is plenty of room out there to sit and relax. The spacious kitchen is well equipped- the Owners seem to have thought of everything that might be required-and there is a large dining table which comfortably seats all guests. Downstairs there is a games/ chill out room with a bar area, pool table, dart board, and large screen TV, and this leads on to a fantastic indoor pool, which is lovely, and not too deep. Men and women's changing rooms and toilets are here too- all of them spotless. Just outside the pool area is the hot tub- a favourite with us all, lovely and warm, and sooo relaxing. Probably missed a few things out, but have to say I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break or get together with friends etc. We will definitely be going back!!

“Long weekend”
Reviewed 1 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Excellent house for a large (ish) get together. House was very spacious, all bedrooms were very large, including 4 en suites. Plenty of on site activities to keep everyone entertained, the indoor heated pool was the real favourite. The lift was a great thing to have for anyone that may struggle with stairs. Set in a good sized plot, great views and sunsets from the top balcony. Owners were on hand to assist with anything you may need, although they never 'interfered' with your weekend. Great location with easy access to some main roads for going out visiting, if you wish too, we never we made full use of the house and its facilities. Would definitely recommend.

“Great family stay!”
Reviewed 18 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Stayed here from the 11th-18th Feb and had an amazing week! From the minute we got here we were blown away, we was greeted by the lovely Wendy who did the tour and she was very accommodating! All the bedroom was lovely and spacious with there own en-suite, kitchen area, dining room and living area upstairs was big enough for our party of 10 never felt like you was in the way of anyone! Downstairs games room swimming pool was amazing for everyone, the kids loved the swimming pool and spent most of the day in the pool! when the kids were in bed the adults were having pool party's too! we went out a few times to Great Yarmouth and Lowerstoft beach just for a walk and some fresh air but overall we would of all been happy to stay in and make the most of the house!! Definitely recommend this to anyone lovely house and you definitely wouldn't be disappointed!! Hoping to return again soon in the future with the whole family!!
