If it wasn't for a friends lovely wedding we attending in Lowestoft England we would have never had this awesome experience. If your travels ever take you to the furthest eastern point on the British Isles look no further for a place to stay than the Wherry Hotel. Plenty of ambience in the hotel itself, not to mention the wonderful waterway view next to the property. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, excellent service, with a great restaurant and bar in the hotel. They offer a Carvery every night. Locals and visitors alike filling the restaurant give testimony to the popularity of the food. What stood out to us most with the friendliness and service of the staff. Everyone one I had the pleasure to talk to made you feel welcome. Two people in particular that will never be forgotten is Alan Murphy who is part of the management team. Alan seemed to be there every time I walked through the hotel. Alan greets everyone he comes across with a smile and always asking if everything is good and if there is anything he can do. He would make your feel you were at his own home. I have to save the best for last. If anyone should ever have the honor and pleasure to meet Sue Dellow at the front desk you will understand how she quickly became my favorite staff member. She greets you like you have been friends for a lifetime. Always with a great smile, great service, nice conversations and just her overall attention to making your stay wonderful was amazing. Sue makes you feel like you are home away from home with genuine kindness. Thank you to the Wherry Hotel for making our first trip to England from America a most memorable one.

Room tip: This hotel has views of the waterway next to it.

Myself and my family come here every year when we have our holiday on the broads mainly for the Carvery. Best Carvery ever had staff alway fantastic but this year especially!! The 2 Luke’s in the bar a pleasure. Nicola on reception from mooring to me keep asking her questions she was happy to help and when my father injured himself got him a bandage and even came to check on him before she went home. What an absolute legend Can’t wait to come back again next year
I never do reviews but thought I’d made an exception

Came to the Wherry Hotel on a day trip while visiting the area, pulled up outside to be greeted by a great building with excellent interior.

If you are coming just for drinks I’d highly recommend, the staff are nice and the drinks are reasonable but if you are coming for the food I’d recommend somewhere else.

We ordered 2 prawn sandwiches and 2 sweet chilli chicken wraps - the sandwiches had around 6 prawns in and the bread was stale. We were not offered the option of white or brown bread so we were stuck with brown (personal preference I am not a fan of brown bread). The chicken wraps were rather thin and were also made with stale tortillas, this came with a side of crisps which were flavourless so they provided a “sour cream” but we got actual cream in a bowl..

Nice staff and good for a drink
