We went here the other day with a 2 year old, he very much enjoyed the day out. There is a mini steam railway that’s free with just donations accepted. The maze is also great fun to walk around.

A lovely park with plenty to do: a large play area with swings, climbing frames and sand pits for all ages, a duck pond, mini golf, free train rides, football pitches, maze, woodland walks and trails, gardens, a couple of art shops, extended car park and indoor cafe, food hut and ice cream vans. There is plenty of green space just to sit and have a picnic or for the kids to run around on. On a nice day you could easily spend the entire day at the park without having to spend a single penny. The only downside is that the toilet facilities aren’t great, certainly not for disabled people. Otherwise it’s perfect!

This large city park could be beautiful but it is in need of a lot of work to improve it. Sadly the miniture railway was not running the day we visited but it has a lot of track and looks fun. Good park for exercising dogs and children, and several football pitches. Large free carpark. Toilets grubby in what looked like portacabins. We did not find a cafe to sit down for a coffee, just a kiosk next to the toilets. The walled garden has a refurbished glasshouse but still needs a lot doing,

Highly recommended, model trains to have a ride on Sundays, Café, toilets. Lovely walks cycle paths and if you take your dogs there is a shower to clean them up afterwards.
