We knew we would only have about 1 3/4 hours here before 3pm closing but what a shambles and poor customer service. We arrived at the same time as hoards of infant schoolchildren and despite having tickets and sent to a separate door for entry, we were kept waiting about 10 minutes for admission as there were only 2 staff on the admission desk.

The young man who let us in was great - informative about the last show being at 1 45, now within 15 minutes. So we didn't have chance to see much as we didn't want to go too far from the entry to the show. The show was very good.

However, the next rush was to get to the last interactive ride of the day - times showed 2.15-2.30. We waited - just 2 of us. No one came. I went off to find someone - there had been no staff anywhere during our visit, except for the helpful chap who let us in and out of the show then was seen no more.

I had to exit to get to reception to ask about the interactive ride. A chap was there and a young girl on her mobile phone having a chat. The chap told me to wait round the corner by the door and the girl would let me through and run the ride (presumably when she'd finished her phone call). I heard her coming and her heard her mutter.... Customers. Not sure what she actually meant.

I complained to her about lack of staff and our wasted time but she just said they were short staffed - which we had worked out for ourselves. I wanted to complain to management but it appears there weren't any.

The interactive ride was fun. This and the show is why I have given 2 stars. As for customer service - very poor and we wasted our money going here as we had no time to view anything in great detail as we were too busy trying to find staff.

For £22 for a family of four... booked online... we really enjoyed this.
We had a free simulator ride, saw a Star Wars exhibition, a Star Wars show and met Darth Vader,,, we were chuffed to bits. And the staff are really helpful especially at reception.
Free parking too!!

We visited during half term but didn't find it too busy. Managed to get a free parking space at the front of the building (always a bonus). The staff were very efficient and polite . I had high expectations on entering as there was a short intro in a mock space pod which then led you to the exhibit. We were advised to go to the back of the building to take in the short film which, narrated by Rupert Grint, talked about life in the solar system. This was projected on the dome ceiling which was very good and age appropriate for my 8 year old. The other space orientated information and interactive exhibits were a bit tired and a bit too boring for her to keep her interested. The Star Wars exhibition was very poor. I actually laughed out loud when I saw the C3P0 and Chewbacca models they were terrible. The small gift shop was pricey and outdated as they had face masks of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan from Dr Who, how many years ago was that! Overall the concept is there but the cost doesn't warrant the visit.

Had a good afternoon at the spaceport & ferry & U boat museum.
The spaceport has free parking which is a bonus. The ferry has great views of the Liver building et al. Having been to the spaceport 9yrs ago we found it entertaining & informative (like last time).
By far the highlight of the day was the U boat experience. The U boat itself was cut into 4 large sections to reveal how people lived in U boats\Submarines. Very highly recommended

Thank Peter S
