Booked a weeks holiday. The location is excellent for exploring the area plenty to do. The cottage itself was excellent. Attention to detail fantastic even down to a torch provided in each bedroom in case of power cut.! Spent a very comfy and relaxing week. Would recommend visiting Raby Castle and Ushaw College both nearby
In the lovely village of Hunwick, Crook, Co. Durham you will find Willow Holiday Cottage.
Tastefully renovated to a very high standard with every conceivable mod-con you could possibly want including wi-fi, while preserving the cosy cottage feel. Log burner in the lounge but didn't need to use it as there was full central heating in every room. The bedrooms are beautiful & really comfortable, bedding provided by Joanne the owner. The bathroom is fabulous with a shower over the bath & that is to die for. Towels also provided.
The Joiners Arms just two doors away is so welcoming & the meals are amazing. Sunday night is quiz night & loads of fun.
Thanks Ian & Joanne for an amazing weekend
We were there for 3 full days and found the Cottage very Modern, its a great place to base your trip from as there are a lot of attractions to go to close by such as Durham City, Beamish and High force that we went to.
With the Joiners Arms pub just 2 doors up the meals are great and every bit a typical Pub.
Thanks to Joanne and Ian for a great stay and making it unforgettable Holiday and experience.
A beautifully and sympathetically, newly renovated cottage in a lovely County Durham village surrounded by the beautiful County Durham countryside at the start of Weardale. The cottage comes fully fitted with all the modern amenities required these days including Wi-Fi, all mod-cons in the kitchen, has a wood burning fire but is also fully centrally heated.
But, who needs a kitchen, when two doors up is the Joiners Arms pub with superb food and a very welcoming atmosphere and run by the same family.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so that we stayed on for an extra sixth week.
Practical, homely, comforting and relaxing, who could ask for more. Our Thanks to Joanne and Ian
