We stopped here for breakfast after learning that our original destination wasn’t opening until 11:30. It tuned out to be a lucky turn of events. Being the off season, the choice was limited to the Costa Rican tipico but it was far above the average fare. Everything was well seasoned and the gallo pinto was some of the best I’ve had here. Very tasty jam with toast accompanied the meal, along with delicious pineapple and bananas. The service was friendly and very efficient and the garden settling over the restaurant’s trout pond allowed us to view a huge variety of hummingbirds. If we had been staying one more day, we would have returned to sample the trout; based on the quality of the breakfast, I would expect it to be wonderful.
