Description: Hello there! The Kicking Donkey is an elegant yet relaxed place to come and drink, eat and meet with friends and family. It's a classic country pub with bags of character, boasting a selection of cracking real ales and stunning wines, and has shelves crammed with gins, rums and single malts. On sunny days, there's a lovely south facing beer garden to soak up the rays. When things get a little chilly, there are three log fires to cosy up to, and little corners to lose yourself in for the afternoon with a paper. We are now fully open with a brilliant seasonal menu. Matt and the team can't wait to welcome you.

Lovely updated country pub but unfortunately the service is terrible. Quiet week night meal and we waited an hour for 3 starters. Main meals all served separately, some of us had our meal 10 minutes before the others arrived. No cutlery given so could not start eating anyway. No main meal salads, small choice of meals. What we did eat was lovely but the service spoiled the evening. We won't be going again.

This was our first visit to the pub and we were not disappointed. We were offered a choice of tables and drinks orders were taken straight away by our friendly server. The standard menu is full of good pub classics, however we decided to order off the specials menu which read very well. My partner started with crispy beef salad while I opted for the goats cheese, beetroot and walnut salad. Both were well presented and delicious. For main course we chose the seafood linguine and a very tasty sounding tart. Again both were well cooked. After a short break we then pushed the boat out with a chocolate and chilli brownie and the cheeseboard. Both were very enjoyable. We will certainly be recommending this place to friends

We do love coming here and decided to bring other family members as our previous trips have always been great. Matt is just so lovely and the food is really tasty. The drinks are on the more expensive side and our last meal was disrupted by screaming kids but we will be back.

Beautiful sunny evening, warm breeze travelling across the fields and we decided to have an end of the week drink. Lovely front of house beer garden, a traditional pub with a modern bright twist. Lots of happy diners with great looking food persuaded us to stay to eat....
Glad we did. Home made pate to start and then classic fish ‘n chips....light batter, fish that actually tasted of something that was recently swimming in the ocean and chips made from real potatoes. What a treat.
Great food, great service and laid back atmosphere. Try it... you won’t be disappointed.
