This is classic french food.

The wrong people will get caught up with not appreciating that it's rustic family food l. Basically if you wanting Spanish and art ... go down the road to Bo.tica.

What this is, is true food. Not the "I'm a foodie review (old or new) looking for followers". If your the person who wants a perfect photo of a dish to post for the most likes you won't get it here. Not unless Instagram gets a 'lick it' function.

The smells from the kitchen the flavors in your mouth ... this is personal food. You go because you want to look at the person on the other side of the table and share something, not with the person scrolling for a photo to regram.

We had half a rabbit. It was that. Not dry as most people achieve. Well cooked with simple flavours. The pan jus splashed across it showed the chef put love in there.
It would only be better if the rabbits were wild, but thanks to rules now there is no chance of that. Chef treated the product as he should have, so thank you.

The salad was simple and chopped.

I'd go back when traveling through again for something to coat the heart and stomach.

Drink local too, the wines are too good for the price.

Just a note - I bet winter is more enjoyable as the bugs were enjoying the summer weather more than us. The staff do their best to accommodate with spray and citronella, but his only wrecks to aroma coming from the kitchen.
You can sit inside as well as out.

Those looking for a photo, ask the geese to stand still.

My last visit was in 1999.

So here we are with huge expectations. Mas Pastor was our regular 'go-to' treat when my Dad lived in Celrà. The food was always good, the service excellent and the amount of booze drunk was usually enough to fell a rhino. Always left Mas Pastor with a smile and a longing to come back.

We did.

It was excellent. Hard facts first, €140 for four of us (including a generous tip).

On the downside the service was too slow and the young waitresses, although happy, were not really keeping up. They were lovely but a bit slow.

The food was top notch. Quality and quantity absolutely spot on.

Whilst we waited we had toasted rustic bread where we rubbed garlic, fresh tomatoes, olive oil and salt. Starters were two Fideuas, goats cheese salad, and frogs legs. Mains were barbecued rabbit (small and tasty), barbecued shoulder of lamb (small and tasty), pigs trotters with snails and seafood, and hake. For dessert there was crema catalana, curds with honey, nuts and raisins, and a selection of cheeses. Coffees all round and then an Irish coffe made with a patented tool to speed up the process of making this - the tool was very clever but for me the taste was unbelievably good. The owner is the niece of the inventor of this tool and took the time to explain the history and we also saw this tool in action. Add two bottles of water, a decent bottle of red wine, and a jug of Sangria.

Not bad? Excelent!!

5 stars from me even though the service was a bit poor - just shows how good a place it is.

Can't wait to go back!

We stayed in Corsa so the restaurant was a short walk up the hill. We enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant - the decor, food and service. The fish was excellent and this is definitely worth a visit.

Just completed a wonderful lunch in this traditional restaurant and roadside establishment. Super friendly and accommodating staff and truly excellent fresh home cooking showing off the great Catalan and Spanish cuisine. Foie and croquettes highly recommended and the alioli to die for! All the meats cooked on the grill - the lamb cutlets tender and so tasteful. Just a great place to have lunch and spend a couple of hours out of the high heat. Definitely to return and also can well imagine a cosy atmosphere in winter. Winner!
