The bunny chow was soooo good! It was definitely the best I’ve had so far. and Mr Dees was very welcoming and shared the deep history of the restaurant and recipes

First visit to Cane Cutters, after the social media adverts over the years professing it to be a top bunny joint.
As ex-Durbanites and regular visitors from Joburg, we enjoyed a Durban bunny from several places, such as Goundens and Brits.

Cane cutters ranks extremely low in our estimation😞😡.
They have 3 categories of Mutton Bunnies, the most expensive being the Deluxe, which we ordered at a much higher cost. The bunnies came, not properly filled with a large potato on top. On cracking it open, there were only 4 pieces of meat, can you believe!! This was shown to the waiter immediately but nothing was done. Never again will we go there... Highly not recommended!!

We heard that their bunny chows were the best so decided to try them I,however opted for the Breyani which was totally disappointing.the rice was cooked very soft,like mushy and even the color was off.It was very dark in color and not the nice red I am used to.
The bunny chows the rest of the family had were not wow either.have had much better in Dbn.needless to say we left feeling very disappointed as our expectations were high based on their adverts

If you have 2 or 3 hours to waste, please go visit Cane Cutters Umhlanga. Service is terrible. Only 1 waiter. Owner is rude - after 1 hour of waiting for our table to be cleaned after the previous people left, we asked to place an order and the owner questioned us about the dirty dishes (as if we already ate) that was left by previous people and still had the nerve to say they are closed! First and last! Especially coming all the way from Johannesburg, terrible service!!
