The Carreta Shiodome is a place where you can find just restaurant and 5 normal shops included the family mart. By night, the lights are amazing and they follow the beauty and beast theme. As an overall grade I’ll rate it a 6/10

Caretta Shiodome is a fantastic shopping and dining center in the Shiodome neighborhood in Minato-ku. . In this interesting and beautiful architectural complex , you may find the ADMT - advertising museum , the Dentsu Shiki Theater , a few very nice sculptures , and some restaurants and bars on the 46th + 47th floors . You will be amazed at the Sky View on the 46th fl. (free entry) , offering fantastic gorgeous panoramic views of Tokyo Bay : Tokyo Skytree ; Tokyo Tower ; the Rainbow Bridge ; Hama-Rikyu Gardens and The Emperial Palace Shinjuku ,
Once back down at ground level , you may find around the corner the "fairy tale" Hayao Miyazaki Nippon Television Big Clock .

t'was 4.45pm Thu 2017Nov30 & already dark way darker than where I come from... we'd been searching for the McDonald's despite the seriously bad signage at Caretta we managed to mutter enough words for folks to confirm ... um i kid u not ... when speaking in English and the Japanese reply in English, ever so often they (yes the Japanese) ask if we speak English in English when we've been speaking already for a while in English... guys it's really not you or me (if English is your 1st language or you're a native speaker), it's just the Japanese have no clue when they instinctively respond that they were already speaking English ;)

so back to the magic.... once we stumbled down to below street level at the open door atrium t'was a HUGE Christmas tree with other trees decked out in unlit lights and folks dressed all in white overalls fussing about the installation

there was already a large crowd gathered at the entrance into this area and in pith darkness it was almost silent, the anticipation was spellbinding!

guys it was thus we stopped looking for McDonald's when all we could see was the Subway neon sign and together with my family we too stood for just what seemed like 2mins the folks in white started towards the border and ....

music yes Disney themed music...then

the crowd murmured and let out oooh ahhh wahhh collectively but still softly as the lights came on all in a darkish blue hue of the darkest sea blue but not yet navy enough blue took your breathe away with rings of bright cool LED daylight white

and it stayed that way for seriously what seemed to be thru the entire lyrics of the first song

BEFORE the sizzling changes in lights and hues and blinks to strobes made it an enchanting evening at the Caretta & this unplanned journey to our favorite Mickey D's gave us a night to remember!

We went down specially to check out the Christmas lights. Theme this year is Beauty and the Beast. Rather nice but wasn’t as big as we had imagined.

We stopped by for the winter illumination. The illumination starts at 5pm, it is light performance teaming with music. It is an utterly dreamy performance.
