Beautiful station. Cool shops underneath. My kids and husband loved exploring everything here. A fun way to spend a few hours.

This place was very difficult to find. We spent time on Google Maps just trying to find this place and we were already in the Tokyo Station! Finally, I got some friendly help from the JR service center and located it. This place in my opinion is a waste of time. The art wasn’t impressive at all and the gallery was boring. On top of that, the staff was rude. I found Japanese staff in all of Tokyo to be courteous and friendly, however, they sure weren’t here. Maybe they were tired or had a lousy day and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but they won’t get a good review from me. Disappointing place and I would stay away if I were you.
The Tokyo station has a small but rather long gallery that features beautiful picture of famous and historical train station from all over the world.
It’s a really nice gesture and touch to the station; it’s like an art gallery which exclusively features famous and historical train stations.
One of the big ticket things on my list is a visit to Chiyoda, the imperial centre of Japan. This ward in the centre of Tokyo houses the power centre of Japan. Right at the centre is the Imperial Palace and surrounding it are key landmarks including the Yasukuni Shrine, Supreme Court, Prime Minister’s Residence, The Budokan and of course, the main gateway to the metropolis, Tokyo Station. This part where the station sits is called Marunouchi, the business district within Chiyoda and just within walking distance to the Imperial Palace. I am always intrigued by heritage buildings that intermingle with modern skyscrapers and Tokyo Station is one example, surrounding by looming skyscrapers on all sides. While seeking for lunch options, I discovered those looming skyscrapers provide an added benefit, viewing levels that allow amazing bird’s eye view of the station. The Kitte building directly opposite, both a mall and an office block, offers a rooftop garden that overlooks the station.
The huge train station has a small art gallery. I have visited this gallery twice.
Recent visit, they had Chagall exhibition. The place had the full of Chagall and related arts. It took for more than 2 hours to walk around. The gallery also shows its original structure within Tokyo Rain Station. It is hard to believe that such quiet Gallery exist inside one of the busiest rail station. You have tons of selection for lunch or dinner after the gallery visit at Tokyo Station.
