YUCa's Ramen & Gyoza class was hands down the best experience we could have asked for... from start to finish! The commute to her home cooking studio was very easy and straightforward. YUCa is a very warm and welcoming person, and her pleasant demeanor makes you feel comfortable and at home instantly. Our group (husband, son, daughter & myself) have different cooking abilities (myself being the one with the least ability :), and we all learned a great deal from YUCa. So much so that we feel comfortable enough coming home and repeating the cooking experience with friends. We highly recommend this experience!

Whenever we travel, we try to take a cooking class. We have done it in China, Maldives and Sweden (where we live, but we took guest from abroad there).
It is a great way to learn more about the country, culture and food traditions. We found Yucas class on Tripadvisor and we (1 mother & 2 sons, 11 and 17 years old) had an amazing experience. Together with a family from South Korea we cooked ramen noodles (with stock), gyoza and vegetables.
The cooking class takes place in Yuca's home and it was really interesting to get to visit a Japanese home. Yuca speaks excellent English and not only taught us about everything Japanese, but also gave us tips and ideas of things to see around Tokyo, that were not in any guide book. We followed a lot of her recommendations.
Yuca is a great teacher and all six of us really participated in the cooking, even though Yuca had prepared some of the more timeconsuming tasks beforehand. The food turned out absolutely delicious and Yuca explained a lot of how to set the table, what is included in a Japanese meal etc.
We ended up buying some ingredients before we left Japan and we have already cooked gyoza at home. I can absolutely recommend taking a cooking class with Yuca!

Yuca teaches principles of Japanese cuisine while running a fun class in which everyone participates in food preparation, cooking and presentation. The group dynamic is relaxed and friendly, and at the end you eat the delicious meal you have created.

We had a wonderful time in YUCa's class! Her home is beautiful and in such a cute and quiet area. YUCa was very sweet and accommodating with our schedule and even added an extra time slot so that we could attend. It is clear that she is very passionate about what she does and is happy to share her knowledge with others. The meal that we prepared was delicious and filled with simple, nutritious ingredients. I can't wait to recreate this meal for my friends back home in Canada. Thank you so much YUCa for an amazing Japanese experience :)

If it is your first time in japan this kind of activity is a must. You enter a real japanese home, you cook some home made tipical japanese dishes (Ramen, Gyoza, Dashi and sesame salad), Yuca explains some generic japanese customs and manners, facts of how and why they eat what they eat, foreign influence in their food, and she is open to any questiom you have about japanese culture.

There is a 3/4 minute trip from the station to her home by taxi that she pays.

We were delighted with the experience.

Thanks Yuca.
