This is my special place I take my friends visiting Guatemala for a special treat. I pretty much stick to the 2 vegetable plates, one is pickled and the other roasted and the cheese platter. Amazing cheeses sourced here in Guatemala. A must do if you can get in. Make reservations early as possible like a month out if you can.

While we didn't experience the wine and cheese, we did get to eat at the owner's Italian restaurant down the road. With traditional family recipes passed down for generations this is truly the best Italian food in all of Guatemala. While the service was slow and the restaurant was out of many things, we truly enjoyed the food here.

After hiking from Xela to Lake Atitlan, our tour guide recommended us to go to El Artesano for a well deserved lunch. And that lunch was so much more than we what we had imagined! Wonderful place, friendly staff and absolutely the best cheese platter we've ever seen. Highly recommended!

Attempted multiple times to make a reservation via the web page x2, email x2, phone calls x3, WhatsApp calls and text messages over 5 days and we were still unable to make a reservation. We had heard a booking was required, hence why we tried to book 1 week in advance. Our phone call was finally answered on day 5 and we were told there was no availability for a further 3 days. Not good enough. Still waiting on a reply from the reservation page on the website. There is no point for this business to have a reservation booking page if it doesn't work and they don't respond. Heard the food is great but we wouldn't know. Very disappointed

We were group of 5 friends aged 30's & 40's who wanted an afternoon of good company, good food & good wine - we definately got all 3.
We all live in nearby Panajachel but are originally from USA & UK, and we all loved it.
Between the 5 of us we shared 2 starters, a cheese plate for 2 then 5 desserts with 2 litres of house merlot & a beer. It cost about £20 ($25) per person
The wine is the best I've had here, as was the cheese - we had 27 different varieties so it felt like a real treat and the desert was to die for.
The service is very respectful - you're given a bell to ring when you want something, otherwise they respect your privacy - perfect.
The surroundings are beautiful - very peaceful and carefully laid out for privacy.
We will definitely go back.....

DON'T FORGET TO PRE BOOK. I just sent an email and we prebooked easily, you just need to prebook your table not your actual menu.
Enjoy
