“Bloody brilliant”

A great place to stay and a couple of fantastic hosts. The apartment is just out of the village square with markets on Sunday and Tuesdays. The accomodation is fully supplied with everything you may need for a comfortable stay even has English speaking telly. Easy parking outside, good wifi and nothing is a problem for the hosts who are always available if needed but respect your individual privacy. Our only downside was that we stayed 3 days instead of longer. Good cafe and shops nearby, plenty of nice country walks along the river through the vineyards, farms etc. Highly recommended.

George and his wife have been on a year long European walk-about, and have stayed in many place on route. He's judgement is top notch with plenty to compare it with. Many thanks to you both...

“Wonderful appartment in delightful village”

We have stayed in the village before so know the region well. St. Chinnian is ideally located to explore the wonders of Southern France - not too big but has everything you will need.
James and Maggie's appartment is near perfect. Located just 50 metres from the town square. Modern, clean and spacious with all appliances you are likely to need.
If you are elderly you might be challenged by two flights of stairs which otherwise are good exercise.
The cable TV is very basic, French only and we could only get three basic channels.
WiFi however was very good and stable.
Hosts were very helpful without being intrusive and there was plenty of information available for those exploring for the first time.
But for very minor issues this property is ideal so still has to score a 5 and we would be very happy to return.

“Lovely apartment, well equipped and only short distance from restaurants and shops in a very attractive town.”

We enjoyed staying in the aprtment which was very well equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Located only 3 minutes from the market square but a peaceful spot. Our hosts were helpful and very hospitable. We would definitely return to the town and be very happy to stay in the apartment again. Thank you, James & Maggie.

“Get among the locals”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Get among the locals in this top floor, traditional apartment refurbished to a high standard. Sleeps 4 comfortably, with potential for 2 more. With a lively twice weekly market on the doorstep you really do feel that you have become part of the local community.

Although the apartment is located centrally there is easy access to a variety of walks which can incorporate the local hillside behind the apartment, along the river which runs through the town or through the local vine growing area. It's good for cyclists too and there is a cycle hire shop in the town. Information about other/longer walks and cycle routes available from the tourist office.

The owners James and Maggie enhanced our stay enormously and are on hand to help with any language or local issues that may arise.

Larger more touristy cities such as Beziers, Montpelier and Carcassone are easily accessible by car.

“You cannot beat rural France”

Located in the centre of St Chinian a short walk from the town square, if you are looking for a base From which to explore this wine growing region then absolutely perfect! James and Maggie are very helpful and directed us to the local beauty spots all within a 30min drive. Only 30 mins from the coast and 20 from Beziers makes this rural location a place to hide from the crowds and experience life in a untouched by tourist location. The apartment is self contained with a well equipped kitchen and lounge with TV. Both bedrooms are comfortable with views of the hills behind the town.
