Stayed in couple a few days in Hotel Palacio Urgoiti . Choose this hotel for location (just outside city but not too far, golf possibilities, overall good comments) - this was out first long stay in a hotel after COVID-19 lock-downs.

Overall stay was good but not great...

Location is truly excellent - just 15 minutes drive from Guggenheim museum, and still very quiet and green area with nice view on the mountains.

Welcome in hotel was warm and check-in efficient.

Rooms are very nice, very comfortable and offer a lot of space.

All was clean.

We used the swimming pool every day, and truly enjoyed this - well maintained and we were always swimming alone.

Breakfast was below expectation - no fruits available, no cooked eggs, no yoghurt - just some bread with ham, cheese, marmalade and croissants. For a 4 star hotel we have had much better breakfasts.

We also used the golf school and truly enjoyed this - Aitor is a great, calm and inspiring pro.

What could have made this stay better?
- fruit during breakfast
- a coffee / nespresso machine in the room
- a bottle of fresh water in the room

Overall good stay but not great, yet...

This is a good place to break your journey to/from the airport, v convenient location, cabs to town were c 30Euros. Good sized comfortable rooms, nice bar and good breakfast. Some of our group also had dinner and they said it was v good. We didn't try any of the other facilities.

This hotel is integrated in a golf complex. Beautiful building, vast rooms, nice restaurant on site (we tried the Bistro version).
A few cons, however: pool is indoors, small, noisy, really substandard; carpet was stained in our room and more generally the hotel is a bit warn out, though this arguably is also part of what makes its charm; breakfast room is nice but quality of the proposed food varies somewhat.
On the whole a lovely one-night stop.

Great location, wonderful vistas, good food and rooms to match. The BIG problem is this is not set up as a hotel to spend some R&R time unless you are either eating, drinking, getting married or playing golf. I had expected a terrace of sorts outside the indoor pool so my wife and I could relax on a sun lounger enjoying the views and reading a book. Instead there's a small concreted area with a few chairs and a couple of tables and the view is obliterated by a large man made bank and vegetation. Because of the enclosed position this one area to relax in without buying drinks or food became oppressively hot in the sun. I don't understand why a little investment has not been made to attract tourists who (a) do not play golf (b) are not getting married or (c) are not just visiting for a meal or a drink. Having booked 5 nights I felt cheated at these prices.

Close to airport (but not noisy) and motorway. Beautiful old building. Had a superior double with balcony. Superb room and staff in bar/bistro are excellent. Only way to improve would be a coffee machine in the room.
