Pasquale and Carmela made our stay in Montescaglioso an unforgettable experience. They are so warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in providing you with a local, amazing experience so that you leave Montescaglioso and Basilicata with new friends and a yearning to return. We enjoyed Carmela's delicious cooking of typical foods and Pasquale's homemade sausage, olive oil, and preserves. The room is very comfortable and quiet. The visit to the Molinello bnb is worth it if you are in, near, or even thinking about going to Basilicata!
We stayed in the Molinello House für 4 nights in September 2017.
Going to Montescaglioso is a good idea because lots of Basilicata gems (Matera, Craco, the beaches)
are not far away.
Going to the Molinello house is a good idea because Maria may take you to town, if you are nice. She knows all the details about the famous abbey, the old quarters where she lived as a young girl and the best dairies which you will miss otherwise.
Going to the Molinello House is an even better idea because for some extra money Maria will cook a complete italian dinner for you.
The ingredients mostly come from Pasquale, her husband, who grows vedgetables and fruits in his own field and orchard.
We had three dinners and didn't bother to go to a restaurant again during our vacation. Instead, at our next holiday accomodation, we shopped and cooked following her recipes which she'd gladly shared with us.
Thank you, Maria and Pasquale, mille grazie for your hospitality!
We spent 14 days in B&B Molinello House. We were treated so warmheartly! Every day breakfast was so much and tasted so good (local and self made food, too). The room was really nice and kept clean; towels and bedclothes were regularly changed.
They guided us throw Montescaglioso and helped us get to know other cultural interesting places, like Alberobello and Matera.
All this and Basilikata's beautiful landscape made our time there perfect!
