Where do I start! If you want to go horse riding in the bush on horses that are well looked after, see lots of game and have a fantastic time AND if you want to go walking with lions and watch them playing and stalking each other AND if you want to stay in a beautiful place have a great Braai (South African for BBQ) AND if you want to stay with a lovely family who really care about their animals and look after their guests with so much care and attention then this is the place for you!

This horse farm/wildlife lodge was recommended to me by a KLM steward. And going by their website (http://www.colin.co.za/) Horseback Africa caters mostly for cabin crew. Regardless, we checked in here for the last 2 nights of our family holiday and had a wonderful time.
It is not the cheapest of places, but there is a huge array of animals to be seen. The highlights of our stay were the horseback safari and the close interaction with the lions (and the dogs, and the combination of the two). To top if off, the MacRae family creates a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere.
