Review of ah! guest house
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Jun 2024via mobile
What a treat it was to stay at Ah! Guesthouse with Arnold and Annaliese. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and adorned with amazing artwork. If you stay make sure you have Arnold’s amazing five course dinner, it was a highlight of our trip! The three course breakfast was also amazing - a first for me to have ice cream for breakfast! Thanks again Arnold and Annaliese for such a wonderful stay.

What a fabulous place. Arnold and Anelise are amazing hosts and nothing is a bother.

The house and rooms are delightful with lots of eclectic art and artefacts which are a delight to the eye.

Arnold is the most amazing chef. Breakfasts were a culinary delight and unfortunately he has set the bar so high, that breakfast will NEVER be the same again!

They serve dinner on certain evenings and if you happen to be staying on that night, dinner with them is a must. His cooking is a thing of beauty.

The location is great, in fact a couple of steps and you are in the beach and it’s a very easy walk to the attractions of a very quaint little town .

We will definitely be back.

Fantastic welcome from Arnold Hoon. We were given a lovely bedroom upstairs with great facilities facing the veld. It had all the amenities (magnificent bathroom) needed from gorgeous fragrant toiletries to coffee and tea-making facilities; all well-spaced and compact. On the same level, we shared a charming terrace with other guests to have sundowners enjoying a good sea and beach view which is only about 150 metres from the sea. Safe parking outside, within walking distance of restaurants and some shops. We had great assistance with our flat car battery. Although we had to leave very early the next day, we delved into a fabulous fresh fruit breakfast and coffee. Good value.
What a charming quirky arty guest house. Loved it! We would certainly stay here again and stay longer! Highly recommended.

Friends of our introduced us to Arnold and Annalise's fantastic boutique guesthouse, with stories of beautiful rooms, amazing breakfasts and a breathtaking experience at their Long Table. We only stayed one night, which was our first mistake. Our experience at dinner was 5 or 6 courses of bliss. Man these guys know how to cook. The Long table changes constantly depending on what is available but we had dishes that included Crayfish, Smoked AngelFish & Beef Fillet, all in great company with lashings of great wine.

A lovely nights sleep and then probably the best breakfast I have had in years, the 3 cheese souffle was amazing!!!

If I get the chance to go to Paternoster again, AH guesthouse might just be the reason I go!!

Thanks Arnold and Annalise for an amazing stay!!!

The small guesthouse is situated very close to the beach. Rooms are tastefully decorated. There are communal sitting areas with sea view. Lights and plugs are working during loadshedding which is great. The downstairs room has carpet, smallish bathroom with tub and shower and a private outside sitting area. Delicous 3 course cooked breakfast is served at 9 am around a long table. Nice atmosphere.

If you want somewhere to stay, which is more than a notch above the rest, then this is the place. Only a total of five rooms, so you have to book well in advance as it is a favourite of international visitors. The meals or rather let me call it fine dining, personally prepared by the hosts Arnold and Annalise, is something not to be missed. See the website for more exact details and pictures.

Room tip: No swimming pool available but the beach is a 'stones throw' away.
