We arrived at the guesthouse at around midnight after having car trouble involving the loss of a run-flat tyre in the middle of the Karoo only to be welcomed by host, Arnold Hoon. We were shown to our room and assisted in unpacking our luggage. A beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped room with en-suite bathroom leaving nothing to be desired. Communal areas include a first floor deck with amazing views of the surrounding ocean, beaches and quaint cottage- style buildings, a tastefully furnished lounge and the highlight, the open plan kitchen/dining area. Mealtimes at the large Chef's Table are most definitely the highlight of the stay with magnificent meals being prepared by Arnold and Annalise whilst the guests (mostly foreigners) sit and chat at the table. They say perfection can never be achieved, however, these come very close. We will definitely be back, hopefully next year.
The experience by far exceeds the four star rating that they presently carry.

You become immediately friends with the wonderful hosts Arnold & Annalise and the other guests at the big kitchentable where breakfast and dinner is served or better said celebrated. Delicious meals are made to perfection by Chef Arnold himself.

This is a guesthouse as it should be and even far beyond.

A beautiful location and very tastefully designed rooms will do the rest.

This was my first visit at this place but certainly not my last! I can‘t wait to come back.

Thanks so much for 2 great days in Paternoster.

It's all here........ I know i keep repeating myself from earlier reviews ,but it is what it is !
The exclamation mark in the 'AH!' logo is there for a reason ....this B&B simply is the best deal you can get in and around Paternoster. Look at their prices and compare them with other accommodations . This is the fifth time we are in this lovely place with the quirky rooms filled with local art . Wifi ,parking and aircon .There is a chef's table you shouldn't miss a couple of times a week . There are huge deserted beaches for lovely walks which we love . We are staying now for 9 days ....yes you are reading this right. Why 9 days would you ask ? We have been travelling to SA for about 20 times now and having stayed at so many places you should think we now what is excellent and what is not. The hosts are there when you need them and will leave you be when you want them to.We just don't like to go for second best...it's as simple as that !!

Room tip: Don't get the downstairs room it's ours !! ;-)

Paternoster has always been one of my favourite places in the Cape and so on a visit this year we decided to spend three nights and chose the AH! Guest House. Just PERFECT. Views to die for and not to mention Arnold and Annalise who were absolutely amazing hosts. Never in all my travels have we eaten such awesome breakfasts..... three course, a starter, main and desert! Arnold is a truly inspirational cook in line with Michelin chef status. One of the evenings he made us a five course dinner. I have only one word to describe this evening HEAVEN. Anyone wanting to stay in Paternoster, this Guest House is a must. AA!

Arnold and Annalise give5 star service, food, sheets, venue, style, personal warmth and a feeling of complete relaxation. Most guests ,as us ,are repeats ,which tells one all you need to know about this jewel by the sea.
One mustn’t forget the amazing room service which happens invisibly and to a very high standard.
