Very nice cottage, spotless, well furnished and equipped, all we wanted. Would stay ag
A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and in a quiet location. Karen could not have been more accommodating, providing an extra bed for my daughter and leaving fresh eggs and produce from the farm. Thanks Karen. An enjoyable stay had by all!
Well, from the minute we saw the owner, Karen waving on the bridge, to help us find the entrance, we were very impressed. We received a wonderful, friendly welcome to this lovingly restored cottage. You will want for nothing here, it's equipped with everything. If it's not there, you won't need it! My parents live in the nearby Woodhall Spa and other family members were staying in their caravans not too far away. We were all meeting for a family reunion and Karen very kindly agreed to us all having a gathering at their gorgeous cottage and very pretty secluded garden. We all enjoyed a memorable evening and nothing was too much trouble for her, and we met her equally friendly and bubbly daughter, Lauren, which was a pleasure. We would recommend this cottage to anyone needing a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle. On the morning of departure we met the other half of Karen...John, a very nice gentleman who must be very proud of what they have all achieved with their project. They are a very busy family, but they took the time to chat to us about the history of the area, which we all found interesting. Fantastic weekend, and we wish this lovely hardworking family every success in their future. We certainly hope to visit again. Sincere thanks, Tina, Tony and Dave x
We wanted a short break over the Easter weekend for my wife and I, along with our son, daughter-in-law and 6 month old grandchild where we could relax and enjoy some family time. We couldn’t have chosen better. The two bedroom cottage we hired for the weekend is in the middle of the farming country with the nearest town being Woodall Spa, a short drive away. The cottage is beautifully appointed with bespoke fittings and décor, all completed by the owners who have done a magnificent job. There is everything you could ever need with fitted oven/hob and dishwasher, a fridge and microwave proving a boon in the kitchen and two lovely big bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom with a walk in shower. A second bathroom included a bath and was adjacent to the other bedroom. The high-beamed ceiling gave an authentic feel to the former farm building with some original features beautifully incorporated into the build. We were met by the owner Karen who showed us to the cottage and gave us a guide and a brief history of the farm and its outbuildings (some of which are in the process of being converted into more cottages). There was a lovely vase of wild flowers to greet us along with fresh fruit, eggs from the farm and local cheese which were all provided free of charge. If there’s one thing that could improve things a little, it would be to have some wardrobes in the rooms for hanging clothes, but as we were only there for a weekend it didn’t cause us any grief.
In short a fabulous find and one we would heartily recommend.
