We didn't stay in the hotel but ate there on a Saturday night. As we have two dogs and knew it might be busy we booked a table at reception the day before. We were told had to be in the Drawing Room (bar) due to the dogs.
On arrival there was no record of our booking and the bar staff said you can't normally book tables. No matter and we found a lovely table in the window with views of the superb gardens.

It's difficult to review as I don't want to seem too negative, but basically we didn’t get any service! I fetched our drinks on arrival and cleared away a couple of empty glasses onto another table. I went back to the bar to order the meal and then went back later for more drinks and then back again to pay. The only time anyone came near was to deliver the food.

Having said that, the food was excellent (belly pork/ liver and mash). The ambience was very pleasant and the real ale and wines very good. We had a lovely evening and would certainly return but they need to sort out their service. If you can’t book fine, but don’t take bookings and at least have someone checking the table from time to time.

It's a lovely historic place set in beautiful grounds. The food and wine are very good and well priced for such a good venue, so please give them a go but maybe double check if you book in the bar.

Stopped by after visiting the BBMF nearby. This trip was a treat for our anniversary, and I have to say that we loved it here. The building is beautiful, rooms very comfortable and clean, and the grounds are stunning (thank goodness they are fenced in, we nearly got lost). Evening meal in the restaurant was perfect, couldn't fault anything. We will certainly visit again!

Room Tip: best views of the gardens are on the opposite side to reception.

A wonderful setting for my wife's 60th birthday. The food and service were excellent and had no issues. We didn't have time to explore the grounds, but it is our intention to visit again in the not too distant future. Well done Petwood.

Charming hotel lovely staff and full of WW2 memorabilia. The hotel was the officer's mess of the Dambuster Squadron. Comfortable beds room well appointed. Wifi speedy. Food traditional slightly odd in that they charged extra for veggies. Would stay here again. Woodhall Spa is very much off the beaten track.

Visited for Sunday lunch, we sat in the restaurant and was not disappointed with the service or the food. Had the roast beef it was really nice. It’s a three course lunch with coffee for £25 it was an extra £1 for the beef but it was worth it. Staff are not in your face but seem to be there if needed.
