“Perfect location ”
Reviewed 9 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

I have visited Skye at Easter for nearly 40 years now and Calath is easily the best place I have stayed. It's perfect as a base for parties that want to walk or climb up the Cuillin. The house is warm (underfloor heating) and very comfortable. The living room has a massive picture window affording a wonderful view across to the Black Cuillin, looking into the vast Coire na Creiche. There is ample room for six adults with attendant walking and climbing equipment. The kitchen is well equipped and self caterers will have no trouble cooking for themselves. For lazy folk like myself, there is the Old Inn in Carbost plus the Oyster Shed (lunchtime only), even closer on the road down into Carbost. In the direction of Portnalong, there is also Taigh Ailean which does pretty good food as well.
All in all Calath presses all the right buttons and we shall certainly be returning next year.

Calath was a truly amazing stay - beautiful views, comfortable accommodations, and a great location. Alan (the owner) was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the area was friendly and comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again!

“An idillic location in a stunning house, we will be back!”
Reviewed 16 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We had a short stay in Calath in early November. It's location with unrivalled views of the Cuillin Mountain range and Loch Harport showed off the very best of the Isle of Skye. Alan was very accommodating and was able to rent us the house for a few nights (next time it will definitely be longer!). He responded quickly with any queries we had about the house. The house is fully equipped with all that you would need to make the stay a perfect retreat from the hustle bustle of city life. We were treated to marvellous skies from the huge window in the living room, that was more like a cinema screen. Skye is a magical place with so much to do and see and Calath provided the perfect base for a group of friends from Tasmania, New Zealand and Ireland.

“Spectacular location”
Reviewed 17 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed for a week and were blown away with the location. The house is spacious and with so many large windows all around (and above) it brought the wonderful countryside inside with you. The utility room/drying room was really useful and the lichen/diner/living room space was particularly nice. Great space to spend time in. We also were able to take in the fantastic starry sky on clear night via the multiple skylight window. With mountain views from One end of the house and sunsets at the other it was a real battery charging holiday. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone!
