We stopped at the café for a coffee which was good but expensive. It is right beside Loch Brittle and there are good views of the Cuillins. It is popular with campers and is near to the fairy pools just up the road.

First time camping so don't really have anything to compare it to but it was also our first time in Skye. 2 adults and 2 children age 8 and 12, the campsite is about 9 miles from carbost on a single track road. Only a few miles down from the fairy pools which was handy. The campsite itself was clean and tidy, shower blocks and clean toilets and a great washing up area. The beach is right on the campsite which is beautiful, the cullin hills all around make a beautiful back drop for the site. The reception staff were friendly and the muffins are to die for. We unfortunately had bad weather it rained most of the 3 days on and off and very unfortunately all through the night with high winds. Not the best for first time camping but I can imagine this site when the weather is good would be spectacular. I would recommend but keep in mind it is quite remote compared to some of the other campsites on the island. Were had no signal or internet the whole time we were at the campsite and for most of the time on skye which wasn't as issue just something to bear in mind.

After a lovely walk through the Fairy pools what a delight to drive down to the sea and find a great place for a great cuppa and great cake.......... great. The campsite looked fabulous and very well maintained. On looks alone would recommend.

Spent a gorgeous sunny day here in July.
Campsite is located beneath the western edge of the cuillins and the imposing mountains create an excellent aura
However, and this totally ruined the overnight stay was the cost
£44 for 2 adults and a 18 and 14 yr old
for basic facilities
Would've been £39 (£5 deposit for electric cars) but after standing in a queue in the reception/shop for nearly 15 mins with a ferry to catch just handed the card back without getting my deposit returned
There was one person in the shop, taking bookings, making coffee, selling groceries
Bit of a joke
Left a bad taste in the mouth charging so much in the first place and then asking for deposits for electric (which of a 7 night tour of Skye and highlands was only one to do so)

This campsite is found at the end of a road facing a beautiful remote beach, a stark contrast to the touristic spot, the Fairy Pools found earlier on the same route. It is an excellent location for walks in to the Cuillin Hills, some quite challenging such as the climb to Coire Lagan but well worth the scramble! We were made very welcome and the staff were charming. Watch out for the inflated prices of midge spray in the shop. You can find cheaper in local shops or even other campsites.
