Description: A nice English Country Pub situated in the village of Bodle Street Green. Under new managment since November 2022 and having extensively re-fitted and re-decorated the pub and kitchen. We are offering a traditional pub menu at reasonable prices with a regularly updated specials board to take advantage of seasonal produce. We source as much of our produce locally as possible with our meats coming from very local farms and our seafood being supplied by a local fishmonger. We have three local Sussex ales on at all times and a great selection of beers and wines. Family friendly, and dogs are most certainly welcome, with straightforward wheelchair accessibility. Our kitchens are open from Wednesday to Saturday 12noon-8pm and Sunday Lunch 12-4pm as well. We have ample parking diagonally opposite by the Village hall and a nice garden which we are constantly improving. We look forward to welcoming you to the White Horse Inn.

We popped in with our dog for one drink and ended up staying for dinner. Amazing Thai food and very reasonably priced drinks. Lovely, friendly atmosphere. We felt very welcome and the staff recommended lots of places to visit.

Popped in for lunch at this pub and had a really good Thai meal. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, the food providers rent the kitchen from the pub, I believe. They do do steak if you really do not like Thai food but the menu selection was wide and varied and I think most people would find something they like.
They sell Harveys best on draft ( well kept according to my CAMRA member husband) and have a selection of other bottled beers.
Also dog friendly with plenty of space for my dog to crash out on the floor while we enjoyed our meal.

I had not been to The White Horse Pub for many years until last night when I joined a group of friends to enjoy a Thai meal cooked by Mam, who runs the restaurant as a separate business within the pub.
This Thai food is so good and believe me I have eaten in many Thai restaurants both here in East Sussex and in London. Clearly made very freshly.. a real gem of a Thai chef.
The owner is gave us a very friendly welcome and looked after us until our meal was ready .

'Whatever @ Whitehorse'

The car park is diagonally opposite the entrance . We were watched on arrival
-Interesting, as we could see the bargirl wait to the last minute to locate 'server' barside. It smelt of paint thinners on entering & was barely warm inside.
The decor was average, the 'service welcome ' felt false - a sense of 'whatever' . Three male locals were swearing & continued to do so ( I hasten to add not at us, but as part of their quite loud 'conversation' occasionally involving the bar girl) . No evident bar manager or landlord. No background music.
As a frequent user of trip advisor I would suggest caution for evening meals here . Laminated menu sheets were sticky. Having ordered meals, it was cold inside the eating area & remained so - no evident heating nor real fire lit!
All of our meals were good, delivered by two staff , on hot plates. It was a real relief when the 3 blokes at the bar left ( at staggered times) & another couple came into the bar . Try the Plough at Upper Dicker .

Thanks to Trip Advisor, we have been thinking about visiting The White Horse Inn and sampling their Thai menu.

A wise management decision. With friends we visited yesterday at lunchtime. We were made to feel “at home” as soon as we arrived and with a bottle of house Pinot Grigio for the girls and two pints of Harveys for the boys, we were able to make our selections from the extensive Thai menu.

All selected dishes were excellent especially the duck on crispy noodles, according to my wife. I settled on the green curry which was a wise decision.

I’m sure we will return in the not too distant future.
