We stayed one week in this nice place, located in the old center of the south Italian village Martano. In the small alleys around the church you can discover the beautifully restored rooms of this hotel. Not really standard rooms but nice and cosy houses with sitting corner, bathroom and sleeping room. The breakfast was delicious with sweets and typical bruschetta, eggs with ham and grissini, even delicious pastries and much more …
Martano is ideally located to discover the beautiful region of Salento, with its rich history, where you can find rocky and sandy beaches. Even in october november you can take a swim in the Mediterrean See at the Samsara Lido where we could free acces. Thanks and congratulations for Gabriella and her staff!!

The stay was wonderfull. Our room was beautifully restaurated, as are all the rooms and stairs. This gives an 'authentic' atmosphere of a rich Italian past. It's like living in postcard. The breakfast was overwhelming and very 'un-Italian' because of the richness, not only of sweet cakes but also hearty specialties from the region.

Room tip: there is a video playing in the breakfastroom showing detailed photo's of all the rooms.

We stayed 3 nights there. The hotel is located in the Old City, because of this the breakfast is served just a few steps outside the actual hotel. As I understand there are other rooms spread around.
The room is spacious, bathroom also big. The room is decorated in a shabby chic style. We were there in october so it wasn't crowded. It was quiet. They serve a big breakfast both sweet and savory, expresso, capuccino, chocolate, juice, fruits, yougurt.
The room was cleaned everyday. The towels changed after 2 days.
There is an interior garden and some of the rooms have outside 2 chairs and a table.

What an amazing hotel !
Beautifully decorated and spacious room, bathroom, terrace and communal breakfast space.
Every day an extensive and very nice breakfast. Too much to eat, there is definitely something on the table for everyone's taste.
Gabriela and her staff were so helpful and friendly. Thank you!

We visited here in May and had the most amazing week, we were slightly worried as we drove into Martano due to the run down buildings and building work going on. When we couldn't find Borgoterra a lovely man from a near by cafe walked us from his cafe to the B and B, our holiday started with that act of kindness and continued in what was a fabulous room with a lovely roof top terrace breakfast. We got engaged in the middle of our stay over breakfast, we met some lovely people staying in the other rooms and just everything about this place was magical for us. 2 points to take note off, between 1 and 4pm you will struggle to find anywhere open for food and drink and the 2nd point is watch out for the bells :) we traveled all around the area and although you are not close to a beach (not within walking distance) you can find lots to do. Would highly recommend Borgoterra and Gabriella as she made our stay fabulous.
