Busy Saturday night service, but we were told that meals may be a while coming out, so fair enough. Vegetarian was served a non veggie chilli, but this was corrected before it reached mouth!

It’s a very old pub with a lot history and character, they boards outside explaining the history for those interested.

We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny evening so sat outside, there were a lot of benches as it’s a large garden, overlooking the river Thames with the barge boats.

We had a halloumi salad to start, best halloumi I’ve ever had!

We were spoilt for choice with the mains, make sure you check the specials board before ordering, specials tend to be homemade.

The mains were huge portions and very tasty.

Again we were spoilt for choice with puddings which were also delicious!

Staff were friendly and service was great.

They happened to have a play on whilst we were there, we were told they often various entertainment on so worth checking what’s on.

I’ll be returning in the near future, there’s a lot of food on the menu I’d like to try!

Thank Camilla S

Been here a few times and never disappoints. We were a bit lucky with the timing as after our food came out it got really busy.
Special board was very extensive and that’s where my thick gammon was ordered from. Father in law had chilli carne carne which was large and tasty. Wife and mother in law had ham egg and chips, too much ham for both of them which shared between me and their dog.
Worked out about a tenner each which for the quality of food is really good. Lovely setting when the weather is good, we were right by the lake.

This is a personal view so not everyone will agree. The bar staff are so slow and not averse to having a chat with each other instead of serving. I find it quite pricey and not worth the cost
