This lovely place is a real haven in a great location. Twyford is a great village, but doesn't have enough genuine independent places. Step up, Emma's kitchen and take credit. You have cracked it. The kitchen is my place of choice for a special breakfast. Please note, readers, this is next door to Waitrose, who are trying very hard to compete. At Emma's, great coffee, great tea, and did I mention porridge. Also, they have the distinction of being willing and able to sell me a huge tub of clotted cream and homemade scones to take home to France.

Thank you

Went there late afternoon on a warm day. Service was slow and the coffee was not very good and the prices were not cheap. There were not may cakes on display, but were told that some of them were in the fridge to stop the cream going off. I had the Victoria Sponge and was very disappointed - the cake was heavy and there was a great wedge of very cold solid cream. Although is was obviously home-made, a good shop bought one would have been better.

This little place is great potential but the food is way off the mark. English breakfast, sadly with not one item cooked correctly. Either overdone, underdone, and with a suspicion of microwave as well. I sense the ingredients may be of very good quality, but it’s hard to be sure.

Come on guys, you have a gold mine here, and you can do better!

The coffee, however, was rather nice.

Visited here based on previous reviews. We came for breakfast. . . Lovely little set up and nice atmosphere. Play room available for children. Coffees were lovely but unfortunately the bacon was hard and dried out, the poached eggs were either under cooked or over cooked. We were offered the option of beans or tomatoes with our full English . . Seriously? Surely both should have been included. My mothers poached eggs were very under cooked. Told they would reheat them again in the microwave. Half an hour later and after the rest of us had finished, her eggs came out. They only have granary bread by way of brown, otherwise you have to have white. This may be really nice for an afternoon tea, but I would not recommend the full English or poached eggs. Such a shame, as has the potential to be a great place.
