Description: The vibrant brasserie & bar has a riot of rich jewel colours and contemporary art, this together with the buzz of guests and locals makes this a really unique little spot. Ruth and her friendly team are sure to make your visit memorable and a warm welcome for everyone. A perfect place to catch up for lunch or to mingle with friends for dinner and enjoy a much deserved glass of wine after a hectic day. All of the dishes on the menu are available served at the bar, in the Brasserie or - weather-permitting - on the terrace. There is an impressive selection of wines, available by the glass or the bottle. A Sunday wouldn't be complete without a traditional Sunday roast with family and friends, so why not treat yourselves to one of the best places in Yorkshire to dine out.

Decided to have lunch at the Dev as the sun was shining and remembered the food was good with excellent views and service.. mmm times seemed to have changed...
we sat outside in the glorious sunshine and enjoyed pre lunch drinks. Ordered Caesar salad and a sharing platter, salad was very average soggy croutons and no sign of parmesan cheese. Sharing platter.. black pudding sausage roll.. luke warm on the outside and cold in the middle, shame as could have been excellent. Homemade scotch eggs lacked seasoning in my opinion and belly pork which was so dry and chewy, I wouldn’t even give it to my dog! Few pints which were good and 70£ lighter.. very over priced for a average meal.. great setting and Service though.. the waiter working outside on Thursday was excellent. I will return for a pint but nothing else sadly. It’s a real shame as back int day it was excellent!

Great if you want something a little more relaxed than the Burlington Restaurant. Food was really good and service excellent. Good value for money.

Chanced upon this lovely venue on a cross country route to Darlington ! Lovely warm day but sat inside this very pleasant bistro. Food and service were good as was the beer and wine. Quite expensive and had to look at the invoice twice to make sure but overall good. I chose a pork trio to start and then fish and chips . I would have preferred a bigger portion but the quality was very good.

We decided to extend our Sunday walk to include a pint in this picturesque country pub. Beer was great and well deserved. Food looked great but didn't have time, maybe next time!

The helicopter pad is a nice touch for those that want to drop in. The former stables are bright and airy. Good food to! My only negative point, and this is due to sensitive ears, is the loud sound the chairs make on the floor. Little felt pads would be a welcome touch.

Thank John C
