The house is set in a rural spot, outside Alhama de Granada. The town itself has everything you possibly need, from shops, bars (lots) and mechanics (which we needed). The house is in a beautiful commanding location, with expansive views over two valleys.
It is incredibly peaceful (especially for Spain), with the only noise is from the nearby sheep and goats bells, some barking dogs and occasional tractor. The house is quite a bit further out of town than the Holiday Lettings map shows. It is an easy route to walk into town, taking about 40 minutes along very dusty dirt tracks – we were greeted by dogs once or twice on our return after dark. You also have to drive along rough tracks to reach/leave the house.
The house itself is large, light, airy, well equipped. All three bedrooms and both bathrooms are big, and the downstairs area is a comfortable open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. The house has everything you need – lots of pots, pans, oven, microwave, fans, (in every room), washing machine… the list goes on. There is lots of crockery, which makes it easier, unlike some houses where you have a limited number of each item. The house has a homely feel, as if you are staying with friends.
Outside are two main terrace/seating areas. There is a small but perfectly placed tree at the corner of the house that gives shade all day long. If you are a sun-lover there are plenty of places to soak it up too. The pool is small, not large enough to swim in, but ok to cool off in. The pool does have a steep ladder up and into the pool.
It is a great place to stay – lovely house, and great location.
